Ok, so I think I know what you're referring to when you say that it "looks worser than the actual game." If you don't have a REALLY good graphics card and your lighting at maximum, then it just kinda messes up the entire lighting engine. Also, the settings are REALLY finicky, so you might wanna try to mess around with those. I use a toaster to play Garry's Mod, so I wouldn't know what to set it to (although I did try to set them to the same thing SAVAV did when he still had the screenshot with his options up). Anyway, I think there's a console command that you can use to trick the Source engine into thinking that the OS has a better graphics driver than it actually does, so I'll get back to you on that.
