AI Glitch - Possibly Mod Related
Hello, I have a question. Do any of you know about issues where the AI just seems to stop doing things? The issue only arises in single player games. The ai seems to work perfectly fine in multiplayer; they expand, kill remnants, etc... But in all of my single player games using this mod the ai will expand a little bit, but then just hard stop and do nothing else forevermore. Even on the Expanse they won't try to kill remnants to expand. They'll defend themselves if you attack them, but other than that, they just do nothing and all of their starting fleets just sit idle in their home system (The fleets do move around during their initial expansion, but once they've grabbed a few systems, they go idle). They also still buy cards in the diplomacy tab when they have the points for it. I've tried re-loading the game; disabling the mod and loading in (they still do nothing); re-enable the mod and load again, still nothing. Making a new game, still they only expand a little, then do nothing forevermore. The only time they go back to expanding "normally" is when I start a new game with the mod disabled (I have not tried enabling the mod after starting such a game and loading back in however). Any ideas?

Based on looking around the map with the ch_seeall, a possible cause is that the systems that are immediately available to them do not contain the resources they need to level up they're home world again. There are uncolonized tier 1 resources, as well as uncolonized food and water to level those with, but they still don't take them. Seemingly because that alone isn't enough to level they're home world to the next tier... But this is only speculation, I'm not a programmer unfortunately, and that still leaves the mystery of why they still function normally in a multiplayer game...

Thanks for the save file, that saved me a lot of time looking for the issue. It's indeed mod related. I know what's wrong and I'm on it.

Ok... So here's what I could gather from your save file:
- All the AIs in your game (all Verdant) cannot expand because they cannot build scouts anymore to gain line of sight on any system.
- They cannot build scouts because the default design for scouts, along other default designs, are missing from the AI design list.
- I also noticed that your save game includes default designs that don't exist in the vanilla game nor in this mod.
My conclusion is that the default designs on your local installation were tampered with and some of them were deleted, thus breaking the AI.

Unless I have additional information that leads me to think there really is a bug with the AI expansion, I consider this case closed. This took me a lot of time and effort and I'm pretty upset to be honest :(

I have changed some of their designs, yes. Sorry, I didn't think about that when I uploaded the save. Those designs are probably not going along for the ride with the save file...

They do build these designs I made for them just fine though, I've seen them using them in un-modded games with the same design files, even during wars where many ships are being destroyed and must be getting re-built. I'm sorry you put in so much wasted effort though :(
