BUGTESTERS NEEDED!
Hey everyone, I need testers for this mod!

Well, technically what I need is DATA. And if you were using this mod, you can provide me lovely data.

So what do you need to do?

You need to download this file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xcxfecn3syezo0o/searchsaves.py?dl=0

and place it in the same folder where your save game is at and run it.

Then the console will run (you need python 3 installed.) Once that happens, you will find the number of characters with these traits. It will also show you the total number of characters.

Please run this on a save file that is at least 25 years in. Preferably 100+.

The traits I am interested in are the ones already set there. But if you are interested in seeing some other trait, just find the trait id and replace it in the file.

This test will run on your autosave file, but you can choose a specific file by changing the string in the script. However, make sure the file is not compressed.

Then post the data here! Thanks!

So basically, use one of the genetic mods, play for a while, then run this file? Should we only use it with the genetic mods, or can we use other mods too (provided they don't break the genetic mod)?

I will have a try over the weekend, thanks for the awesome work on this mod.

@scryehard Yeah you can use other mods. Just play it like a normal game. No need to make it specifically a test run.

@The Scag
Thanks!

I'll give it a try, though my schedule is rather packed at the moment. Do you simply want us to do as instructed and then make a list of the traits and number of characters displayed in the console?

@Scryehard

Basically. You can also just take an image of the console and then upload it and link the image here.

just playing i didn't track how many were born but there was a lot of dwarfs and kids usually get negative traits over positive sorry if this wasn't helpful also i played for around 86 years

@rb47798 The reason for the python script is so that I can have actual raw data, not anecdotal evidence which is impossible to determine anything from. So far the data that people have given me shows that negative and positive traits are about equal.

Thanks a lot! Was this vanilla or HIP? Bright and Dim seemed to have the wrong trait number.

But other than that, the numbers look about what I wanted! Slow and Quick ~1.5% of population, Genius and Imbecile ~0.5%. Dwarf and clubfoot look good too.

Excellent. Thanks! :)

I played with CK2+ mod (4.08 beta-3), also i forgot to turn off True Eugenics mod, maybe it has some influence on result. All other mods do not use traits i presume.

Btw, updated numbers (years 769-869):
genius 301
quick 897
bright 163
dim 46
slow 1117
imbecile 249
dwarf 235
clubfooted 387
total number of characters is: 66283
