Specialist 'restoration' ability is bugged
Your file has: (AbilityName="RestorativeMist", ApplyToWeaponSlot=eInvSlot_PrimaryWeapon)

It should be mapped to the secondary weapon, otherwise this causes a CTD.

I have no idea, I've stopped playing xcom a while ago. Try it out for yourself, it's a rather easy fix.

I tried changing the ini and still crashes, bummer

EDIT: I think you need to start a new campaign for it to work, havent tested it myself though

2024 calling in, regarding that Restorative Mist bug. It still exists, was sadly never fixed.

The entry in question can be found at

(your Steam location)\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1707653796\Config

in the file

XcomClassData.ini

There you’ll find

; Specialist - Brigadier +SoldierRanks=(AbilitySlots=( (AbilityType=(AbilityName="RestorativeMist", ApplyToWeaponSlot=eInvSlot_PrimaryWeapon)),

Change this to

; Specialist - Brigadier +SoldierRanks=(AbilitySlots=( (AbilityType=(AbilityName="RestorativeMist", ApplyToWeaponSlot=eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon)),

and you should be fine BUT you’ll have to rebuild your Specialists using

RebuildSelectedSoldiersClass

from the mod [WOTC] Additional Soldier Console Commands

or start a new campaign, like I did.
