Simple Chains: Lumber
This mod directly conflicts with you Simple Chains: Steel mod.
You require steel in order to build the trestle. There is no flexibility. No stone blocks or even iron, for the matter. This makes Naked Brutality extremely tedious at the beginning. Allow for the trestle to be built with different materials. Not just steel. Do that, and I'll consider this mod over Expanded Woodworking. Because even that mod has a "Make Lumber by hand" at the crafting spot to make it through the early game. Thank you.

The approach I normally take is...
build the bloomery out of stone chunks right away.
Dig up some iron and coal and get the steel going.
Cut a tree down. Steel + raw logs = trestle.

An easier approach would be to find some steel on the map, like from a ruined structure or debris.

There should be a way to get wood without steel. It just doesn't make much sense, specially with a tribal start. The method could be less efficient, more time-consuming, or something like that, for the sake of balance.
I see. I suppose the bloomery is pretty easy to make. I hadn't taken that into consideration. Apologies.

there are MANY maps that don't spawn with any coal. on these maps it's impossible to to get steel. why can't i make charcoal?

i wanna like these mods, i really do, but you've made them luck-based
i don't want to have to start in a mountainous region just to be able to build a wood hut
