Players can get through the walls from the sea by swimming.
I found this glitch or problem when playing on a DayZ server. I've built tier 3 walls close to the sea and I fell off to the sea while building. I figured out that if you swim from the sea against the wall, you can pass through the wall as if the wall was never there.
