The mod is awesome. Bug I have run into was that if you copy/paste the grid with the elevator or when you load the world while the elevator is on a floor other than the bottom then it freezes. The only way I found to fix it was to delete the bottom floor and then rebuild/place the block.

One very important question - does the game freeze or just the elevator doesn't do anything?
If it's just the elevator, you may need to place any block anywhere on the grid it is on and wait up to 10 seconds for the floors to update.
I will look into these and see what I can find out.

Well I just tested copy/pasting and it was working as expected. Also all my testing elevators are keeping their positions on reload.
Can you tell me more about your environment? Game mode (Offline, Single Player Online, Multiplayer, DS), other mods you are using? Also can you check the log and see if there are any messages about Errors?
The log is located in %APPDATA%/SpaceEngineers/Storage/Folder starting with 1711861968

Its only the elevator, the rest of the game handles fine including the small VCZ elevator. Im currently playing in offline with quite a few mods. I checked the log and Im not seeing any errors. I tried what you suggested about placing a block and waiting 10 seconds. Also it seems like I only needed to do that when the world first loads and then I dont run into the issue no matter how many times I copy/paste afterwards.

My friend cant press the elevator buttons. I see the owner is nobody, i change the owner for me but he cant press the elevator buttons.

In the deleted post I see a few errors that pop up. I assume that's from when your friend was trying to use the elevator? Ownership set to Nobody shouldn't be an issue. In this case I think there's something else going on.
I assume you are the host in your game, right? Also is he having problems with the buttons inside the elevator or on the floors (calling the elevator), or both?

I know that gate isnt supported, but I can walk through it fine from ALL other blocks, id reccomend checking if the elevator stops at the correct heights, if the stopping point can be scooted up just a milimeter that would be enough I think.

Stopping position of the elevator is just fine. You are probably having an issue because of a current bug with doors and to walk out of the elevator you need to walk on top of the door subparts for the floor. That's I won't change because it will make it harder for everyone to get in the elevator.
All I can suggest for the moment is remember to jump out when walking trough that door and hope that Keen fix their stupid door bug soon. Or build the door 1 block further out.

Yes i am the host, i dont have problems with buttons. Only when u build the piston floor in creative appears without building (the floor and the piston)(

I delete the error log because it seemed a lot to many spam for post.

I will try to figure out why connected players can't use the elevator.
Yes, the first floor is placed automatically for convenience. You can remove it if you don't want it there.

Warning: if you use this with a door close script and forget to exclude it, it will TRAP you on the elevator. The elevator won't move, and you won't be able to move, either.

If you get trapped inside, use the stop button.

Update:
- Added option to choose if the "Ding" sound should be played when a floor is reached (enabled by default).
- Added option to choose if the light should go red when elevator is blocked (enabled by default).
- Removed the automatic placement of the first floor due to some issues.
- Fixed the floor displays on the Half Floor.

- Some changes to the way the button presses are being registered. Hopefully this will help in a few cases where clients in MP games were not able to select any floor.
(Please let me know if this has helped as well as if you encounter any negative effects)

I placed the base as you instructed but it's not letting me place anything on it and thus cannot build the elevator
