ARK NPC People
Some Helpful Thoughts and Suggestions
As some one who plays mostly offline single player this could help fill in some of those missing gaps. I have checked out both Simple Humans and NPC Humans and while they were close they do leave some things to be desired.
Since I don't mod games myself I have no idea what the difficulty modding things is, though I do have a little experience with general coding so I can respect its difficulty. That said I do have some suggestions that I would like to see.
The biggest suggestion would don't just have NPCs that you can "hire" at a merchant's shop, have some building their own little colonies - maybe have a few small buildings they inhabit - that you can "recruit" (knockout and tame) to your base. To explain why you can hire NPCs from the merchant you could just put in that they are looking for a new tribe that they can get being, such as being wealthy enough to pay them to join.
The next two are things about the others that could have improved them that I think should be in this one to really makes it the top NPC mod:
The big thing that ruined Simple humans for me is that the model used for them could not fit in standard vanilla doorways, as I wanted to populate my base with them. One other thing is that they could not gather anything. Though I did like its random name generator - each NPC had its own unique name. It would seem that these NPCs are able to gather and I don't think they are larger than the doorways.
The thing about NPC Humans that bugs me is that when you place armor on the NPCs it does not retain any of the dyeing you did on them while that does not ruin the mod it does ruin some of the in game customization you can do to make each one different. And as mentioned before I liked the random name generator and it is not present in this mod.
Just a few thoughts I thought you mite find helpful. Looking forward to how this mod develops.

i like the idea of a merchant selling them adds the slave trade to the NPC side of game. use this in combination with NPC villagers and your set. recruit from the wild or buy from a slave trader. or just have both. i use npc humans in this build and plan on adding yours to the server specificly because it has a NPC trader as well i place down on the docks in the market. https://youtu.be/Yyf725Rvdaw

Hi, Yes I play single player. I didn't like the griefers that keep killing me and ruining all my work on building, just for their psychopathic enjoyment. So I'll stay with you on this mod. Things can only get better. I've played ARK on the PS4 for the last 2 years. but with no mods. I like mod, they add to the game in many ways. what would Skyrim be without them. a dead game I think.

@ ICS Gaming. Thanks for the Vid. It gives me many idears of what I can add. I'm just starting on the PC for this game. A great build by the way.

Don't know if you have, but you might want to take a look at simple humans, it may give you ideas on how to improve your NPC's.

I like the idea of small villages / colonies as long as they stay with only primitive weaponry (spears/swords/etc) and no firearms / armies / etc.

regarding the OP's comment about knock-out... guess that makes some sense. But to me, it seems like the best way would be to have them as passive tames similar to the apes but maybe with say cooked meat instead. Or both passive and knock-out if possible. Actually, from the perspective of having armor / weapons, if you ignore the 3d models then this idea could be said to share some common elements with the mod 'Damn Dirty Apes' except for the "village AI"

zpangwin you just described npc humand mod. they build houses stay primitive and you can passive tame or knock them out. and in the ini settings you can set them to hostile or friendly. And they wear normal clothing that we make color and or upgrade...... but i like this one for the slave trader my city is loaded with vendors and i love having a slave trader to add into the mix.

thx will add that to my list to check out also. I haven't tried either this one or that one yet due to lack of time. I am excited to hopefully try this one out soon but was mostly speaking from frustrations with the bushpeoples mods in the past (seemed like that one wanted to make pve into 'pvp for people with no friends') whereas this one sounds much more promising for what i want. especially the helping out with farming etc

and i'm not opposed to slave traders in game at all; was just throwing out random thoughts on taming stuff... knockout is great for roleplaying slave/pow relationship; passive is better IMO for RP'ing contractor/friend/subordinate relationship. but both have their place.

i use both the mods without issues.

Would like to see options for NPCs riding dinosaurs and equipping weapons given to the them, if that's possible?
Is this mod still alive? Cuz i have some good thoughts to the mod. I thing this could be an overhaul..

I'd really like to see versions of the NPCs that can use bows, crossbows, and maybe longneck rifles?

There is a mod to allow an NPC to farm resources (metal, wood, stone etc) with a distance limit around a storage point.
Maybe it is possible to allow NPCs to harvest resources if we manually place storage points nearby.
I also saw that they could deposit resources in chests, fuel campfires, cultivate crops, hunt for meat, and various other activities.
But the mod I'm talking about is really limited because the crop yields are really very low. His name is "Human NPC"
Maybe it's possible to create a caste of NPCs specializing in resource harvesting?
