The damage system is broken so even if the item gets to damaged status or lower it does not show its damaged in any way apart from not being able to equip the item or logging on to a lovely message saying all items on the floor. It is an easy fix to add a damage system into code but since its already there in your backpacks should be a fast easy fix for you.
