To turn motion off, click the toggle button on Captain's board.

To change flag to less offensive, click the toggle button on Captain's board.

To randomize a crew member, point at the giant crew-token on Captains board and press 'r' or right-click and select "Shuffle".

To put a card under a player board, just drop it on an player board at the position you want it to be.

I too would appreciate this. I find the current background highly distracting, motion or not.
