Getting Eden running on a Nitrado server
Using Nitrado Server as a host, I uploaded my scenario to the server (used the correct directory from the steam workshop folder) and made sure that folder name (1742662471) is selected in the dedicated.yaml - Upon loading the server, I'm given two starter planets Vioralis and Stetell. Double checked all server settings and made sure the custom scenario is set to 1742662471. No matter what I do I cannot get it to load eden. It almost seems as if I uploaded the scenario files to the wrong place and that the game is instead loading a default scenario. The server destination directory I uploaded to is: empyrion/content/scenarios. Any suggestions? It seems like a really simple fix, just can't get it loaded.

I'd try naming the file to a word and going back and also changing it in the dedicated.yaml too

Keen to hear how you get this running on Nitrado too, will be trying soon. Are you on Experimental version too?

Any fix for this? Getting the same problem on Nitrado

Try just using a name instead of numbers. works for us.

depending on how the game parses the config file there could be a type conflict. 'blablablubb' is treated as string while 1234567 is treated as integer, which would cause a type conflinct since string is expected.

//RoE:

changed reads to parses since it is more likely that the game actually parses the dedicated.yaml. small things like an unexpected carriage (is that right?) return will cause the dedicated.yaml to break.

I did, didnt work. Im seeing lots of problems with Nitrado and Eden, I wouldnt recommend it. May work now, but I wouldnt trust it (they have their own internal config files). Changed to LOW.MS and it immediately worked fine no problems, and better latency (and they also have a Sydney data centre if thats relevant to you).

we got it working on nitrado a few times now. only issue we noticed is that the dead starter planets wont work.

sux for me because i love those planets, but whelp.

nope sydney is a bit to far frankfurt would be ideal haha.

I rented Nitrado server for 3 days to test, i worked 3 days a couple hours a day to try to get it to work, but i never got it up and running correcly.

So went to another server host, and it worked as the first minutes and never had problem since.
I talked back and fourth with Nitrado suport, but they never manage to help to get it working, so i got refund.

Yup I got a refund too. Low.MS is the way to go, better ping and stable eden (well...as stable as Empyrion can be haha)

we still don't have issues with nitrado. except the ones that dead starters don't work. but that doesn't seem to be nitrado exclusive.

nitrado had an issues with fresh installations but that is fixed. last time I set up the server it took about 20 minutes to upload eden and configure the configs.

the best server is still a remote desktop. full control and better debugging

Fair enough, lucky for you. Nitrado is the cheapest option for a reason though, ill stick with Low for now - better ping for us, with more players, and fully functional eden with no probs

Are you using FileZilla ?
I use FileZilla for transferring all my files into my Nitrado server
Grumbledore 19 Dec, 2019 @ 6:52am
honestly Filezilla is quite outdated when it comes to functionality. SmartFTP is pretty decent and does support moving of folders. and it turned out to be a bit faster then Filezilla.

Filezilla was actually trying to overwrite files that didn't exist on the server anymore. no clue how that happened maybe the folder was cached but well.

Are you asking me if im using FTP software to access the server and upload the mod files? Wow bro you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ genius I hadnt thought of that hahah godamn - i take it all back! I might try that thanks maaaannnnn
