Erestrum/Zascosium are far too rare
So far i have around 24 planets unlocked and i have resources set to the highest you can put them.

3 planets have Erestrum and 1 has Zascosium and i have not found any nodes that give more than around 160 total and each planet that does contain it has maybe 3 nodes at the most. The last planet i checked was a very large planet having 50+ of each of the other resources yet Erestrum had 3 total all of which were small with maybe 160ish total raw ore. Took HOURS to scan an entire very large planet only to yield 450ish total raw Erestrum.

Adding this up i end up with at most 9-12 nodes of Erestrum so far including moons with no more than 160ish for each node.

When you need these resources for ships that require 1000's and then ammo on top of that you end up with a HUGE grind.

I am seriously about to just cheat some in because its so time consuming trying to get it.

First sorry for the late reply, I JUST saw these posts and didn't even know there were any new posts here!

Erestrum is found on planets in the outer solar system, and Zascosium is found in the inner solar system closer to the sun. Sometimes you can find smaller deposits in other places though.

This is intended to help slow down the pace of progression and reward exploration. The scenario usually generates about 80 planets, so you still have a lot of places to unlock. There's a lot of zascosium and erestrum available in the solar system but it will take time to find them because these are end game ores. Unlike the default game where you can find both ores in just a couple of warp jumps.
