Your need to have your own village, and then you can hire them.

I think this amazing mod should have mercenery companions also not only noble ones. The nole companions could be usefull as vasals once you become independent lord or leadf armies that you send to defende a feef or something. Mercenery companions are useful in handling your personal army and in helping you to level up in the beginning of a campain.
