Mining Chip, an implant that doubles mining speed and has a mining resource yield of +25%, all with a carefully crafted description for the item. Stone Chunk output isn't affected.
Nanotech Brain is being nerfed and will be 10% as strong as it previously was. This still makes it incredibly powerful, as one can still heal without need for a doctor, and all wounds are healed at the same time.
Farmer Chip is being nerfed, so that its plant work speed and yield has been decreased to +50%. This means that the chip will still remain very powerful, but not overpowered.
Implants & Chipsets are having their textures redone completely, with the 3 tiers of chips and chipsets, alongside a specialized texture for the Nanotech Chip.
It is currently planned to make individual textures for every implant.
All descriptions are being revamped and improved overall.
The changes are as follows:
======== About
Mod name has been changed to "Brain Implants and More (implants)!" to fit the updated descriptions & names of items, while still having a bit of a spark of jonny02's original title.
explodoboy has been added to authors in the About.XML file.
Description of about.xml has been revamped, adding a more professional appearance.
Added Mining Chip to about.xml description.
======== Hediffs
Farmer Chip did not work as intended, the resource gain does not work. The work speed is still +100%.
Mining Chip has been nerfed. Mining speed is unchanged (+100%), but mining yield is reduced to +25% extra resources from mining. I think that having such a great mining yield was too much.
======== Chipsets
Chipsets Z370 and Z470's value has increased somewhat, making them more expensive, while keeping the rewards for the items worth it.
======== Crafting
Farmer Chip's crafting requirements has been increased from the Z270 chipset to the Z370 chipset, due to the very high potential of the farming chip for dedicated farmers.
======== Implant Items
Descriptions have been enhanced for all items.
======== Textures Images
Chips & Implants have been given their own textures specified to what kind of chipset is required to make them, there being base a generic fallback chip, a Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 sprite. The implants.png file is left untouched, as while it appears like it's unused, explodoboy hasn't gone through enough code to be absolutely certain.
Tier 1 is a pretty basic chip that looks like something you'd expect out of a normal computer, with outlines to really show the details of the chip.
Tier 2 is a octogon chip with 8 prongs total, something a bit more futuristic but not too space-y.
Tier 3 is some sort of diamond-like shape that has prongs going out of its side, with a decorative piece of miniature art on it, the chip/implant's grey body having a slight gradient.
Nanotech Chip has its own texture, being a Tier 3 chip but with a purple-blue gradient.
Explodoboy is planning on making textures for each of the chips,
Chipsets have been given proper appearances to look more impressive than they currently are, ranging from primitive computer components of today to what one would expect on a Glitterworld.
Z170 (Currently unused.) takes the appearance of primitive computer components similar to what we would find today.
Z270 takes the apperance of some more advanced computer parts, all with a monitor! If squint, you can see the demon haunting one of the components. /s
Z370 takes the apperance of a sealed kit including what you need to program a chip into what you need from it.
Z470 takes the apperance of a sealed kit shaped like a diamond, including just what you need to build Glitterworld-tier chips & implants. No fuss, no troubleshooting!
Explodoboy also improved the texture for the Electric Assembler, now it looks much nicer and doesn't look like it was plainly ripped out of Rimworld's files! On its surface is some of the parts from the Chipsets, and some other misc parts.
All chips are being re-done, now all non-special chips having 3 tiers.
Immune Chip: An implant that boosts immunity.
Sleepstopper Chip: An implant that reduces / removes the need of sleep.
The changes are as follows:
=====ITEMS=====
* Original implants and chipsets, except Nanotech, have been removed.
* New chipsets and implants added, 3 tiers each except for Nanotech chip, which is 1 tier only.
* Tier-0 Chipset (Primitive) added, which has very little use at the moment. Can only be used to make Crude Immunoassist Chip.
* Immune Chip is currently the only chip with 4 tiers; a tier-0 crude.
=====RESEARCH=====
* Research has undergone a complete overhaul, with new bridge technologies which are much more realistic. Bridge technologies don't add anything at the moment, but probably will in the future.
=====TRADERS=====
!Note - Trader is known as Electronics Market.
* Trader now sells Primitive Components, from 3 to 8.
* Trader now sells Components, from 25 to 50.
* Trader now sells Advanced Components, from 4 to 12.
* Trader minumum Silver stock increased from 16,000 to 20,000.
* Trader maximum Silver stock increased from 30,000 to 40,000.
====HOTFIX====
* Stomach Chip research no longer unlocks Immune Chips.
====REVISION 3====
* Glitterworld chip descriptions now show that Glitterworld Medicine is needed to install them.
======REVISION 4=====
* Same changes as Revision 3
* Stomach Chip now implanted in torso, to work with prothstetic and bionic stomachs.
