  1. It seems like your mod for some reason dont work and I require that you fix it. Age of Wonders 3 is not to blame of course. Invisible models, lack of content, loading screen freeze or other reasons seems to be the issue that my modded game doesn't work properly. Can you tell how to fix it especially since I'm on windows 10 or 11?


    Oftenly OneDrive seems to interfere with the user content folder. Try to first relocate your document folder and user content for Age of Wonders 3. This is an unofficial solution that is uncertain and specifically made for AoW 4 initially by TriumphBas

    Go to One Drive -> Settings

    1. Remove the Documents folder from the Backup list

    2. Navigate to the OneDrive/Documents folder, go to Properties -> Location tab

    3. Change the location of the Documents folder to a local folder on the harddrive.

    4. Move the files from the OneDrive folder to the new Documents folder

    5. Optional: Unlink your PC from OneDrive and reinstall it.

    6. Unsubscribe and Resubscribe to the mods you'd like to enable.

    7. Launch the game again, make sure to add the mods and update the Aow3 launcher.

    The mods get put in your documents folder, however, that documents folder can be an OneDrive folder which isn't an absolute location, meaning the game has trouble finding and loading in the mod content when enabled.

  2. Steam either does not let me download this content or is not downloading the full content at all?

    An alternative download is available. Follow this link and download the content. Overwrite everything in the rar file in the user content folder.

  3. The content does not unpack itself. The Taf. file is still in my user content folder and refuse to unpack whole content. Is there a way around this?

    Yes. Use the Nexus mod link above in the first section. The alternative download provides a unpacked version matching the steam workshop content. After that it's just subscribe and update the content from steam workshop and the Aow 3 launcher will be able to update from steam normally.

  4. Some of your models are invisible? Why can't I see them but others seems to be able to see them?

    Please look how your my document folder is set up. The game cannot read the "User Content" as its in the My document folder. It can be due to some newer windows version or language settings. Follow the link for a solution.

  5. Loading screen freeze? Possible workaround

    Since this mod adds things to the leader customization. It can cause locks on the game at the loading screen.

    For stuck on the loading screen bug. The only way to get around this bug is to make sure the path to your mod folder is in English only, inlcuding your PC user name and stored locally on harddrive.

  6. Why does it take so long time to make a scenario?

    It takes time and it should. Creating a map only with a number of cities, terrain and then adding structures goes fast. As soon as scripting takes place, the amount of time is often tripled or quadrupled. Adding a story demands even more time and then tracking down bugs etc.

  7. Why don't you create the campaign with other mods? Decodence, Empire, Racial mod, heroes mod etc. Would it not be easier and faster?

    I don't want other players to be forced and to be depended on someone else content. In case someone does not update their own mods or make unnecessary changes that make things unbalanced I rather not depend on it.

  8. Why is it only Nomads I play in every single scenario? I don't want to play them because I don't like them.

    The design choices are made out of story reasons.

  9. Every time I finish a campaign map I either get redirected back to the title screen or it loads a blank map? Help?

    Before a scenario is released there is a possibility you cannot play the next scenario. For the purpose of this, the campaign is already set up with all the possible scenarios endings and continues for scripting reasons beyond the campaign editor so the engine acknowledges all scenarios are stored in your local save file.

    The solution is to play from the latest save file of the completed scenario when the campaign was autosaved on a victory. This also depends if the scenario is released yet or not. So check the number of released scenarios before you write about it.

    In some rare cases you actually have to reach halfway through the scenario before the next scenario is unlocked through the scripting. This is happens during the "Shadow Council" that the mission cannot be skipped through cheating for example how the scenario is designed with scripting.

  10. I found bugs or have suggestions?

  11. I'm a very good map maker, I can create a map and then you can set it up inside the campaign.

    Well, to be honest, I'm very picky about level design. I usually only judge scenarios out of specific criteria. That is quality of effort. If you don't know how to set up a map and link caves, for example, you won't get far.

  12. Why dont you create a campaign based Lord of Rings, Warcraft, Warhammer or Elder Scrolls games? It's pretty cool actually.

    There is already plenty of people who done multiplayer maps with mixed result. If I want to make a campaign it should be based on Age of Wonders series and nothing else.

  13. When you are done with AoW 3 are you planning to move over to the Planetfall or do you intend to create more content?

    I do not plan to buy Planetfall. Maybe in a distant future. If someone decides to create Lizardmen as a race I'm on, count on it.

  14. So the Nomads have returned?

    They are included and set up.

  15. Are there any incompatibilities with other mods?

    There should be none. However I suspect that the Nomads does not gain any benefits from the Shadow Realm Expansion gaining no benefits of their racial governance tree from the new structures included in the mod from the Mystery City Upgrades.

    Out of guessing there can be small issues with other dwelling mods like Beastmen, Dark Elves, Old man and the sea. If there is, I may create compatibility patches for all.

  16. The Nomads are way too strong. Do you intend to balance them? If they became too weak what does it mean for me?

    In general all races in the AoW 3 universe suffer from imbalances at some level that some races and class combos are just stronger while getting countered by another set of race-class combos due to having weakness against something else. This does not mean that Nomads in particular should be nerfed to become unfair and not fun to be played because they have a harder time against other races. The fairness comes in overpowered abilities and that races should not have extreme stuff that steamroll everything. It's a necessary sacrifice.

  17. Are you planning to involve other and how can I help?

    Not at the moment, people have shared their interest but disappeared completely making it difficult to coordinate the mod. So I have decided to work alone so I don't depend on others except my real life partner influencing on some graphical issues.

    Always open for translators, in French, German, Polish and Russian.

  18. I have a problem with my own mod!? I have no knowledge regarding the mod editor and I do not intend to read the mod guide. I intend to ask around for simple things, why should not specifically I ask alot of questions?

    First the Mod guide made by Triumph may seem tricky at first. But it's logical to start from there. Every serious mod maker has consulted tutorials and guides to make their mods.

    It's possible to experiment with mod editor and learn by doing. It takes time, but gets tedious to try out everything. Ask around and search for solutions is great. But don't expect an answer from people as the forums starts to die out and people move on to other games. I might provide answers, if I have time and have the right mood.
