Objective Ideas
Hey,

Further to my reply in atom's post, I definitely believe one major thing missing from the game at the moment is more objectives. I'm also not a huge fan of horror films, I scare easy. But after playing 4-5 rounds, the scary part disappears quite quickly, so introducing an element of risk would also be fantastic. Once people have played a few games, and understand the current objectives, escaping becomes very simple and rounds end very quickly without the raptor being able to "play with their food" so to speak. So I'm definitely up for more objectives, and a bit more variety. Here are some ideas.

1. [The Samples Objective]
There are 2 small test tubes, with raptor DNA that need to be salvaged, and taken with the survivors to the escape pods. Both tubes must be extracted from their slots by an engineer, and placed into one of the escape pods. However, once extracted, the alarms will sound in that room for 20 seconds, thus telling the raptor your location.

2. [The EVAC Confirmed Objective]
Oh no! Access to the escape pod controls has been overidden by an outside party. Your crew must head to the mission control centre with an engineer who will slowly restore full access to the escape pods. This takes a while however, and anything could happen...Once access has been restored, a loudspeaker alert will briefly call out "Escape Pod Restrictions Removed, Escape Pod Restrictions Removed".

3. [The Escape Pod Co-ordinates]
In the officers hanger is a computer terminal, in which the 10 digit coordinates must be entered by a navigator in order for the escape pods to return safely to the planet. The Co-ordinates are found somewhere on a scrap of paper in the crew access area.

4. [The Self Destruct Objective]
Once everyone is in an escape pod, nothing should be left alive on the station. One person must be in the mission control centre, and one person in the admin room. Both must turn a key at the same time to authorise self destruction of the station 15 minutes after all escape pods are launched.

5. [Is that an asteroid? Objective]
An important cable has been damaged (in the corridor with all the alien/raptor gunk). It is malfunctioning and sending the space station on a collision course with a nearby asteroid. A miner must open the wall panel with a hand drill (which makes noise and alerts the raptor), and cut one of the wires. Someone at the mission control centre will call out which wire they need to cut. If they cut the wrong wire, alarms will ring, doors will close on either side of the corridor, and can only be opened by the Raptor, who will be enjoying a free miner-pie. Some fun to be had here with getting rid of those pesky rival crew mates you've always disliked.

Extra Objective

11. [The Drill Objective]
There are three electrical surge protectors across the map hidden under floor grates. If the Raptor has damaged the electrical circuits, one of these surge breakers will trigger. A miner must open the floor grates, with a hand drill, find which circuit breaker needs fixing and flick the switch back on to restore power. However each time the hand drill is used, the raptor is shown your location. Without power, the other objectives cannot be complete.


OTHER FEEDBACK:
On top of this, adding more hiding options and a quick way for the Raptor to get from A-B, like the good old ventillation shafts, would be great.

I'm actually somewhat against the pistol being able to kill the raptor. It should perhaps just stun it for a while, and offer a chance to run away, instead of killing it. I find that getting 3-4 pistols together make for a very easy kill, and a very frustrated alien.


That's a lot of feedback but obviously I wouldn't have bothered writing any of this if I wasn't enjoying the mod. It's fantastic. Really big thumbs up from me, really really hoping you keep building this one out and making it the new "Nazi Zombies" but for Squad. Thanks again, Novello.

thanks for the awesome feedback, really appreciate it! I'm already working on a bunch of new objectives for Space Crew and some of the ones listed here are gonna be in there for sure!

1 objective is to re locate the fuel line to the pod ya want to go in to
end maybe have some places of the ship without air end ya have to repair some air valves

I really like the idea of the self-destruct objective. Requiring 2 players to turn a key at the same time is a good teamwork objective
