Aropana Syandana v2.2

Fantastic concept, but it needs just a touch more work done
First and foremost, the core idea of the syandana is extremely clever! I'm surprised no one else has thought of something like this before. The general design of the spires and their core looks very sleek and certainly fits in with the rest of the syandanas on offer. Additionally, though its a small touch, I love that the loading spires bunch up at the bottom when spinning, momentarily giving it the whole thing a downward facing shape. It's hard to put into words, but that little bit makes it feel more like a syandana should.

That said, the big issue I currently have is that there's not a very obvious energy design on this thing. From what I can tell, it appears to be in the very center of the core, but I can't see it anywhere else. The spires look a bit odd just suspended by nothing, so I have two suggestions (though keep in mind that I've never created something like this, so I could be talking nonsense).

My first and simplest suggestion would be to add little energy bolts that connect from the end of the spires to the core in the center. I don't think it's the best option available, but it seems like it would be the easiest to implement. My second suggestion, which I imagine would be more difficult to do but might look a lot better. Is to add an energy ring somewhere inbetween the spires and the core. As the spires spin (or "load") the ring will break apart with each spire and follow it in pieces. The ring would almost mimic the loading function of the spires, giving it a little extra flair and strengthening the concept.

Either way, I'd love to see this make it into the game! Non-standard syandanas have always been a favorite of mine. Good luck!

I think it needs more energy effects, or particle effects, to represent more the "loading" concept... Like this, just moving and nothing else it lacks something.

agreed

Perhaps an emissive down the center of each spire as well?

can you have an energy trail coming off each leaflet?

i agree with you

I'd add that if the animation shown represents how it actually works, I'd suggest making it smoother. There's that delay between cycles which seems a bit janky. This concept reminds me of the Ayatan sculptures, and they have a consistent, smooth flow to them. I know it's clearly inspired by loading screens (although HMM I wonder why I get that idea) but if you put that aside, it's got potential as a sort of ayatan syandana. Which I think would be neat.

Make sure that it can mimic the prime aesthetic if you copy the colors of a prime warframe, and that the accents have the metallic texture so that it can look like gold

I love the suggestion - I think this would tie the whole thing together very nicely. This would be something I would gladly buy.

Add a static option to this. The movement is very distracting and if it stays in current state of movement at random it will impair players vision when aiming, wallgliding and other movements. I love the models and texture, but the movement. Hard pass. Same thing happened with the Sari Syandana. It's great for relay fashion frame and capture, but because it becomes a distraction on missions it's almoast never seen.
