What kind of events are in this map?
I hate horror, but I want to face my fears. To do that, I need to take baby steps. And to do that, I need to know what kind of events are in this map, so I can get more confidence ( Or worsen it ). So, what kind of events are here?

I've known this map for a very, very long time, so I can name most of the events:

1. At ANY time, a screamer can happen, although it seems to mostly happen when you enter some doorways. It can consist of your screen flashing white and a scream, or the screen showing a HL2 stalker thrashing around, followed by a scream.

2. In the spawn room, the screen will occasionally start emitting a static noise and showing several red burnt bodies. The lights will also turn off during this event.

3. At the first platform of the very first staircase you get to, there is creepy whispering.

4. After you enter the room at the top of the first staircase, the light can go out with a glass breaking sound.

5. At the end of this hallway-thing, there is a small room that's almost like a security guard's office. If you go inside, the door will close behind you, and a HL2 poison zombie will rush out of the door on the right, making a fast heavy breathing/grunting sound, and smack into the glass, leaving a large splatter of blood. In this room, if you pick up the small box of keys by pressing E, a room with explosives in it will be unlocked. I'll get to this later.

6. If you head left to the cafeteria (The light in here can also go out with a glass breaking sound), at some point, a red-glowing body will appear above the shelves at the front of the kitchen, emit a groaning noise, and all of the tables and benches will fly towards it. This is pretty loud, and can be heard from anywhere in the map. If you already heard it, don't worry about it happening again.

7. (Still in the cafeteria) If you go into the bathroom on the right and go near the second to last stall, a stalker scream will play, and a charred body will burst out of the stall. This one can get you pretty badly if you're not prepared. In the left stall, if you go about halfway in, a skeleton will appear in a t-pose, emitting red light. This one isn't so bad.

8. (Still in the cafeteria) A man can occasionally be seen walking in the cafeteria, emitting a red glow. I don't think it emits any sound, so it's not bad at all. Just creepy.

9. If you go back to the intersection with 2 doors and the security office, going through the door on the right can result in a screamer, and it will take you to a large room. On the left is the chemical cupboard that you unlocked earlier. Careful, there are live explosives in here, and they will kill you if you aren't careful handling them. A skeleton can occasionally appear right outside of this doorway, emitting red light, but there's only a small growling noise to accompany it. Again, more creepy than anything.

10. Small fun fact, if you enter the main large part of this room and look behind you at the wall, Wallace Breen from Half-Life 2 can be seen upside down on the wall, then he will disappear. EDIT: I don't want to add another paragraph so I don't have to re-number anything, but the tall shelf in the main area will eventually collapse, and it will be loud!

11. If you enter the room with the yellow light coming from it and hit the baby doll, the lights will go out and the door will be locked. You will then hear footsteps coming from outside of the door, and the celing will rise up, emitting red light, and crash down on you, taking away some health and playing a loud zombie-roar-type noise. The door will be unlocked after this, and you can leave.

12. DO NOT enter the door on the right at the end of the hallway lined up with the door coming from the security office area. There will be a loud repeated screeching sound, and the objects in the room will fly around, killing you.

13. If you want to advance further into the map, go to the second door on the left in the large room area. Break the wood panels on the wall, move the cinder blocks out of the way, and go left into the wall. Go forward then right. While you are going right, a stalker will appear in the left path, emitting red light and whispering. It will disappear after a short time. It's very easy to miss, so don't worry about it too much.

14. After you keep heading right, go right again and you will see 2 charred bodies clinging to the edge. If you go forward, they will drop. That's it.

15. You will end up in an elevator shaft. You can either jump down with usually no problem, or try to lose less health by jumping down to each tier in the shaft. Enter the doorway, and either to the left or right (I forget) there will be a small jumpscare (no noise) of a large group of fast zombies rushing towards you. These are not NPCs, they are just a decoration(?), so they go right through you.

16. Down here, there will occasionally be this poison zombie that makes the same fast grunting/breathing noise as before, but it will run towards you, and when it touches you, it will make a large growling sound and your screen will flash white. If you want to avoid it, just noclip out of the map, and it will go away.

17. While exploring this map to get more events, I just heard a very loud clanging/bang noise, so watch out for those. EDIT: This might have been the shelf collapsing in the main room.

18. If you enter the room you found after breaking the boards, you will find yourself in an old morgue. There is an event that seemingly randomly happens. The screen goes black and white, and the radio in the room starts shrieking. All of the objects like the test tubes, trays, etc. start rumbling like there's a mild earthquake, and start breaking. The body-drawers then fly out, some with skeletons in them. Not too many jumps in that one.

19. The door in the back-left just leads to some more body-drawers. Not any events in here that I'm aware of.

20. The door in the back-right leads to some incinerators. If you go into the one in the back, the door will close and it will turn on, burning you to death.

21. Going back to the hallway outside of the elevator shaft, going straight will lead you to a staircase. On the second platform, a body hanging from the celing above the second flight will rise up with a cracking sound.

22. After you go up the stairs after the body rises up, some boxes and a cart will fall down the stairs. Some boxes will break, which can be loud. Continue up the stairs to the door labeled "3".

23. This is the upstairs area. Most of these rooms are empty. In one of them, you can go outside to a very high concrete balcony sort of thing, and look down. There's an invisible wall, so you can't jump down. Just something worth mentioning.

24. If you go to the doorway at the end of this hallway and break the boards, it will lead you to the large room from before, but the poison zombie mentioned in paragraph 16 will run towards you again.

25. Back to the beginning of the hallway. Heading left will bring you even higher, to the top level of the main room. Going left into the room emitting a static noise will turn the screen black and white again, emitting a ghostly sound (for lack of a better description), and you will see 3 cheaples from Half-Life 2 (Google it), but their bodies themselves will look staticky, like a TV with no signal. After a few seonds, another ghostly sound will play, the screen turns back to normal, and the cheaples will turn into skeletons crumpled on the floor with blood under them.

Well, this is all the events I could think of and find. Hope it helped.

No problem! :)

EDIT: I forgot something! In the cafeteria, if you go back into the kichen, there are spatula scraping noises, and if you go into the freezer, the door will close and lock behind you, and after a couple seconds, there will be a loud growl, and all of the barrels and shelves will fly and fall over. You will be able to get out after that.

Sometimes it gets stuck, but you can usually visit another part when the screen turns black and white to correct it.
There's some more events that I know of. I'll try to list them all as accurately as I can:



1: In the room to the right of the office door, the sound of childeren playing can be heard at random.

2: In the large room (The room where Wallace Brace appears) , a flickering low poly man can be seen walking across the first balcony on the left side. He will walk up to the door at the end before turning around and then vanishing.

3: Near the right turn at the hallway that you enter from spawn, a zombie will appear at random (It's quite rare) before disappearing.

Fix to 19th one. You can open the furnaces in the wall, opening the bottom right one will activate a jumpscare.

And at some point if you try to go back to the spawn. In the hallway where the office with keybox is, near the doors leading to the staircase you will encounter a fast zombie.
