I'm not sure, but in zarantia's secret path, there is CTD when certain general from other country is recruited, with the event of some 'enlightened' thing. I used portrait mod and theater mark mod, also localizing mod, but CTD still happen whether I shut down those mods or not. So I'm not sure, again, that this is bug or just mod crash, but maybe someone can see if there is really a problem. I write this just for your information. I may try again without any other mods but only EaW only, if then I'll add some comment here.
