Could work, but would be shot down by Hasbro

I can already see why not only that but if someone actually did try to make Equestria at War its own game not only would they have to actually purchase the rights to My Little Pony but in doing so would have to go through signing a crap ton of legal paperwork and would have to also go through so much legal litigation through the courts and realistically all of that would take several months to maybe even years and not only all of that but Hasbro would have to agree to sell the rights and the trademark of My Little Pony which I definitely do not see happening at all

Lets keep this conversation going I would like to hear other ideas and concepts

I think it would definitely have potential, but to not suffer from hasbro nuking it into oblivion, it'd have to have a completely original set of characters with completely rebuilt lore, nations, and whatnot. Coding generally isn't such a complex task, but what takes a lot of time is rewriting, once more, a story from the ground up, creating and designing everything, so on and so forth. In conclusion, I think it is possible but it would require a massive creative willpower effort

what if the EaW team works with hasbro, it would mean they wouldn't have to buy the rights

I doubt that Hasbro would be interested in making a show for little girls into a wargame :)

You'd have to get Hasbro's permission. If you somehow did that they'd probably demand most of the money from the game. It would be hard making EAW into something worth making a separate game from HOI4. If you take away the possibility of making enough money to pay everyone and make it worth it it becomes almost impossible.

Yes but they want to keep it more for the Childen and with out the permisson of Hasbro you can make it a war game but thats illigal and (perhaps) get sued like Palworld (the only Options you may get are Shut the game down or let them descide how they want the game to be (remove the War part and change it to somefhing Child friendly and Cash grapping, while pay them a certain amount). If you cant pay them, they may will buy it from you or you shut it down and have much of Debt

thing is, hasbro makes a heck ton of money out of other stuff, but im not sure exactly how much they make off of my little pony, but im pretty sure they can do neither of those 2 and just ask premission from hasbro, not sure how much berucracy is in that, but theres probally a LOT of berucracy
