What kind of new content would you like?
I'm still planning to add new content to this mod, and while I have a few ideas planned out already, I'm curious about what players would like to see. So, what would you like to see more of? Feel free to leave suggestions.
  • More modern and near-future content?
  • Or more tribal/medieval era content?

Considering ceramics are temperature-resistant IRL, would it be possible to make insulated walls with it? Make them brittle or ugly to balance it. A wall that bleeds less heat would be a great feature.

Currently, different materials don't have different insulation values, in so far as temperature movement is concerned (the have a 'heat' armor value, but that's for protection against fire damage)--wood walls insulate just as well as stone or steel. So, such a thing would require a pretty extensive rework, which is just beyond the scope of this mod.
One thing I'd like is clay deposits that could be mined. Atlas Materials, which has lovely bricks and adobe as well, also features clay as a mineral that spawns on maps. Now, the main reason I like that feature is because it would allow different types of clay, potentially. It'd be a cosmetic thing, but red clay and blue clay make different colored bricks when baked, and adobe from different parts of the world has a very wide variety of colors to it.

Maybe something that can serve as a late-game wall material. Hardened ceramics don't quite fill that niche largely because they cost literal money to build. I haven't calculated it but I estimate that buying plasteel with the silver used in construction is cheaper and stronger as well.

A material that is even more expensive but is stronger than plasteel and is fireproof would be nice as well.

I'm not sure if it should be here or on the compatibility subject but I was wondering if a kind of crossover could be possible between this mod and Glass+Lights. G+L introduce a new glass resource created from stone chunks (for walls and furniture), yours add sand and fired ceramics...
Y'know.
:D
i prefer a bit of all,you can add an extension of this mod that adds armours of all eras, and ads the hability to add diferents plates to bulletproof vest,so you can use even a chunk of wood as a plate, also it would be cool to add an anti explosive suit (bomb squad like)
hey,why not add an quality stat on the silica wafers, this stat is based on the cleanness of the room,(let's say a room is on 2.00 of cleannes, then the silica wafer would get an chance reduction of getting a normal and above quality stat, and if the place is an sterile zone if would get an bonus for cleannes of the quality of the wafer, and the more quality a wafer has,the more expensive gets and more components gives when manufactured to give components

hi the idea for a room with cleanness sounds good - they have Clean Rooms in real life too :)

i came with the idea because of how it works IRL,also,it would make it more aimed to midgame, and it would be also nice to add more process to it (like the basic wafer from sand,,then the doping process)

While a novel idea, unfortunately it's thoroughly beyond my abilities, sorry.

¿why not try to check how the room cleannes rating is based on?,then, try to create the parameters for the quality of the wafer based on the cleannes mood stats for the colonists

pd:this is from a non modder comment, and,if you can't do it,I tottaly understand why,i know how hard that sort of things can get into

Howdy! Cool mod! I'd love to be able to use haygrass in mudbrick creation! Either as a replacement for fiber, or as a precursor for fibers.
N7Huntsman  [developer] 20 Jan, 2020 @ 6:42pm
@Stephmo Added; you can now make mudbricks from hay and clay.

@Not Honestly, it just touches a lot of different mechanics (crafting, room cleanliness, the recipe system) in strange ways they weren't really meant to be interacted with.

While it's more plausible that it could be changed such that you prepare the wafers and then load them into a kiln to bake and that they could potentially be ruined by the room being too dirty, that's something that's still beyond me, I'm afraid.
