it has the same destiny as all of the tf2's workshop weapons - lying in the gaben's trash bin

valve gave up on tf2's arstyle long ago
even if it was a legit Makarov pistol from the 80-s it wouldn't make any difference
and even then, weapons don't make NEARLY as much money as the cosmetics do, so there's no point for today's valve to add them anyway

Same. This is too much of a recognisable weapon and you'd have a hard time making this fit with TF2's cartoon-but-not-too-cartoon niche.
The other issue is that it’s crazy OP, even if it was nerfed it has the same effect as the guillotine and the damage output is insane. It would be hella abused.

The scout already has 4 pistols including the shortstop and it’s an instant upgrade from the stock pistol.

I absolutely love the mechanics behind it and it would be an amazing addition regardless of these issues but unless it had an enormous amount of support, it’s unlikely it would even be considered to be added
This weapon is OP, no chance in hell for it to be added, it would be just annoying as spy mains that swear to use the ambassador in every situation ever, Plus, it would ruin TF2's artstyle even more.
Well, guess we won't see an soldier pistol for another day.
It's too good to be forgotten by Gaben.
