Dam it 2! The Director's Cut
Kyle's Review of "Dam It 2: Director's Cut" - 4/5
Amazing visuals, iffy navigation. 4/5 stars.

Other than the name, Dam It 2: Director's Cut has no relation to the canceled L4D1 campaign Dam It — this mod started development in 2009 and its level design is entirely original.

The whole campaign takes place in and around a giant dam, and it's a graphical showstopper. The visuals are densely detailed, with artful vistas everywhere that create an engrossing atmosphere and an enormous sense of scale. The maps aren't too big, though, and they're fun to explore because of good pacing.

However, the biggest issue with this mod is that it's very confusing on a first playthrough. There aren't nearly enough in-game hints about what to do, and the hints that are actually there are ineffective. The high difficulty exacerbates this frustration, and I also had one crash in Map 3.

Issues aside, this mod still rocks and it's worth a download for its stunning visuals alone. I honestly think it would be a lot more popular if it just had a less confusing name.
