1. This here is a community crowd sourcing platform, all the people on here do this out of sheer passion (since there is 0% guarantee anything will ever get in). So let people make what they wanna make and judge the item on it's own merits. If you wanna be angry because there is too much of X item in the game, be angry at Valve for not caring about TF2 anymore.
2. If you really wanna have an impact on what is added into the game, you just gonna have to motivate people to make more stuff you deem worthy , or join the creative process yourself, things that are not helped by p*issing workshop people off.
I'm being a d*uche?
Listen to me, I'm offering criticism. If you're being defensive because Neo's on your friends list then that's fine but I'm just offering criticism. I know this is a community platform, I know it gets by on what the people give it and I know it is by passion this stuff is made, but some people want cosmetics that actually fit with the style and the other cosmetics of the game , you can't just let anything in.
Secondly, I don't have anything against Neo as a creator if you want to go down that path, he has made some of my favourite cosmetics out there, the Salty Dog, the Rebel Rouser and the Dynamite Abs to name a few, and several duds to me, such as the Hot Dogger or the Bomb Beanie, but nonetheless he is a very respectable and accomplished guy.
Next, Valve do care for Team Fortress 2, they have shown that. I know this point can boil down to subjective views, but just listen to their attitude in their recent[ish? I don't keep track of time very well at all] interview that VNN took chunks of to make into a video. Overall, I just can't direct my anger at Valve.
Another point you raise is that if I truly cared for this then I have to motivate people to do stuff I want or do it myself. a) I am motivating people to do stuff I want. I'm motivating them not to make any more bloody beanies. b) I have tried to make stuff myself. I have no skill at it. I can't even figure out how to make the programs I've used work in the slightest. I have neither the money or the time to get a good software that explains everything and tutorials seem useless to me. I have tried to make my own stuff. I lack several vital skills.
You obviously lack several vital skills in being able to take criticism, or at least let others take it.
