Should I remove the translucent backgrounds? They do convey some information, but that information is also available when you hover over the recipe. I only use the images to find the thing I want to craft, and check hover over it to see what I need to craft it. Removing the translucent colored backgrounds would make that easier.

It would be better to go the way of the mod Clear Items on the Crafting Tabs where the silhouettes are removed, but that'll require a lot more work. If the original author of that mod doesn't update it soon, I might make a fixed version of that, as well.
