Usage Guide (Bombing Runs & Settings)

Bomb accuracy radius: The circles represent the possible area each shell can land. There's always a miss chance.

Attack vector: The direction the ship will travel, and how often it will bomb during the bombing run.

Note that each ship have specified bombing capabilities in both carpet and precise modes. Precise strike mode drops a smaller amount of bombs on a very specific spot.

Hey quick question, everytime I try and bomb with the skip I get the error message "cannot bomb here unless active map is loaded." Can ya help me?

Nevermind I figured it out, you have to have a colonist in the tile you want to bomb to be able to bomb it.
A forward observer makes sense (even if the real reason is game mechanical), but does that mean I need to send two aircraft (one with passengers that lands first, then the strike craft) on a raid? Until the problem with everything being dumped out is fixed, the landing team would have to re-load the bombs while they are under attack in order to get air support...
Bombing is glitched for me too.
how do I load the bombs? I do the bombing runs but nothing happens, even with mortar shells in inventory.
The Albatross says it can hold 6/16 bombs does that mean a bombing run maxes out at 6 bombs and a cluster can use the full 16?
bombs kinda straight up dont work
Ok so I'm not the only one who noticed this. Sucks cause the main reason I spent the resources on the ships was to bomb annoying siege groups that keep blowing up my nearly complete devilstrand farm
for those having problems with bombing with mortar shells or using CE, i found that this mod helps

I'm using CE and this mod, does anyone know what I need to load into the skip to use bombing?
hey everyone you have to put mortar shells in the cargo for bombing to work
i had to go into mod settings and enable mortar shells under "Allowed Explosives (Bomb Runs)" before it worked
Try it with Swarm shells (Android tiers mod I think)...massive carnage :)
I usually have at least one ship loaded with them and an undead pilot from Rimworld of Magic.
Oh, and you don't have to have someone on the map you want to bomb if you have a ship with an advanced sensor from SOS2. You can scan any area from the sensors pull down, and once the map is generated it is fair game.
