Bombing issue
Well, first of all, I've only tried new bombing mechanics exactly once so far, so I can't tell if the issue if persistent, but here is my situation:

I have 2 SRTS:E ships at my base an Albatros and a Skip (I believe it's the name of the smallest bombing capable one).
I load an Albatros with an assault team and head over to the mission marker on the world map (it's an outpost, I was supposed to destroy, a vanilla type mission), once the team make a landfall, I load bombs and a pilot into a Skip and ordering it to do a bombing run, a world map opens, but... the outpost my assault team are standing at can't be selected, for it's "not loaded".

What I tried, and what I've found out:
1) I've tried to bomb my own home sector. Map zoomed in no problem, I just didn't issue an order.
2) I've moved the Skip to the outpost to make a local bombing run, much like I tried with my base: still doesn't work. It seems that only my home base was considered as "loaded" by the mod.

Again, I've only tried it once so far, maybe it will work fine in any other type of misson, or even will work with just another outpost, I don't know, but if there are any suggestions, or maybe I've missed a step or two...?

P.S. Oh! Totally forgot, and it might be important - I've entered the map via landing my Albatros. I didn't land near and walk in there!

This should be working. That was one of the scenarios we tested a lot. I'm sorry for the issues. I do believe we will be looking at this again after Christmas time. I don't know why it's not working for you right now, but it will be fixed soon!

I've got the same bug right now (in the exact same mission ("bandit outpost")... but the holiday is more important, so have a nice christmas!

A quick update:
I've tried it once more, this time with my colonists attacking another settlement (NOT a mission, just a hostile settlement) and it worked perfectly well. Apparently the issue from the above is not with my game or incompatible mods, like I was afraid.

Oh, yes, I've done everything exactly the same way, as written above. Same save, same SRTS ships in the same roles, same entry method, everything, but the map type remained the same.

It may be we haven't quite nabbed down entering some special map tiles. Thanks for the heads up and info! We'll use it to squash the bug

I was informed by my friends that now the shuttles have bombing capability. I was so excited and had a try few minutes ago. the test was great! But it take me some time to find out that I need to load the bomb into shuttle's cargo bay before the bombing run.
And here is my question/request: since currently the bombing run will only apply HE shell and anti grain shell, I wonder if you can allow the shuttle to drop some advanced munition from this mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1693437813. this might make things more exciting. I'm sorry but I can't seem to make bombing runs work - but I think I might be using the wrong ammo! Can someone tell me the in-game name of the bombs that work? Can they be placed with the dev tools on the "Place direct" or "Place near" options? Thanks in advance!

They use normal mortar shells. You just load them like normal cargo, and press bomb instead of launch

It must be some kind of mod incompatibility on my side then - I was trying to bomb with a skip on the same map I had just flown into. Just to confirm, is it compatible with combat extended? It has caused me some compatibility issues before

No, it's not compatible with CE. Sorry. I'll see if it's an easy fix.

Seconding this. Bombing bases works fine, but bombing temporary outposts like bandit outposts or item stashes doesn't work at all.

MLG, yes this is an oversight. Event maps will be bombable soon.

Seems like i also have an issue. The only thing i can bomb is the area at my base because that the only thing that seems to be "Loaded", is it due to the fact i didn't scout? if so how are you able to do that?
The only option i get is to attack which makes me unable to enter for 4 days after leaving and after waiting i still the message saying something about the map being not "Loaded"?
The only way i can bomb an enemy base is if I land on the edge of the enemy map leave one colonist in that map then bomb the enemy base. Is this how you're suppose to bomb or can you bomb from your base?
