Garry's Mod

Custom Taunt (Music)
VERY CLEAR steps to ACTUALLY hear the music
Yes, everyone has the same issue. No music. Alright well, I'm here to give you the easy answer.

Someone pointed out in another discussion that using Wire Tool and going to the Sound Emitter option solves it. Yeah, okay.

I, your regular everyday average Enclave soldier, will tell you how to put those pieces together, in a long, LONG tutorial.

First, and obviously, get the Wire Tool in the workshop. It has a lot of prizes and gift badges, so you'll know what's what I'm talking about.

Then, get your ass in any map. Now, while holding out Q or by pressing F1 you'll enter the menu (If you didn't know this before, how the heck did you get far enough to know that this mod doesn't work properly in the first place?), and at the right, where the tools are, you'll see a new cathegory called "Wire", with many folders in it.

The one you want to expand is the "Other" folder, and immediately after the "Sound" subfolder.
Then you'll have the Sound Emitter right there. Select it, and you'll see some nice speaker props (and for some reason, a can) at your right, while your tool gun gets equipped. Over the speakers there are three buttons, Open Sound Browser, Play and Stop. You want to select the first one I mentioned.

It'll take you to the folder where all of your modded noises, sfx and character wound moans replacer mp3s are; to the Sound folder.

As far as I've seen, there are 2 folders you want to check; Fortnite and MMD, which include the songs for the Fortnite taunts and the songs for the MMD taunts.

Let's say you want to play Deep Blue Town, the first "dance with music" taunt of the !dance menu*. Well, lucky you, it's the first audio file in the MMD folder!

*yes. You need to type !dance in the chat to actually see the options.

(DISCLAIMER: the sounds folder's order is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. You'll have to try and listen to the tracks while watching your character awkwardly dancing to a song with non matching rhythm until you find the song that fits with that taunt)

Select it, and you'll get 3 more options: Play, Stop, and Send to sound emitter. Wanna listen to the song? Press play. Want to place the speaker that will play that audio file? Get the Send to sound emitter option. Your tool gun will now be able to place a speaker, the one you want. Yes, even the can, you wretched monster.

Place it (very important), and you'll see every time you point at the speaker which file is it going to play (every file needs its speaker, ya can't put 2 files in the same speaker... Unless you are a degenerate and like to have an infinite row of identical speakers each one playing a different track. Let me guess, you also prefer cans over speakers?)

In order to play the song, you need to go back to the F1 or Q menu, and be in the Sound Emitter screen. Press play to begin the audio, and stop to reset and pause it.

Now here comes the tricky part: You'll notice that you can't time at a human speed the dance and the sound, since *to access the taunt menu you need to open the chat, type !Dance, and find your choreography*, and playing after or before that the file you chose ♥♥♥♥♥ up the timing.

I'll tell you a little secret: did you know that, in the Esc pause menu, you can still access the Q menu? Do you know where I'm going with this?

I'll just explain you what to do, in simple steps:
1. Get to the !dance menu, expand the MMD list, and leave it there. Then, press Esc to pause the game.
2. Game paused, the expanded list is still there. Press the Deep Blue Town dance, and you'll see your character paused, but in third person, meaning that he's ready to start.
3. Q doesn't open the menu in pause, but F1 DOES!! Press it (once) to leave it open, and go to the "play" option in the Sound Emitter tool.
4. Now, as quick as the scriptwriters ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the Enclave in the Fallout sagas for the sake of the plot, *PRESS PLAY, ESC AND F1* to clear all menus!

If you've done well, you should see an adorable and perfectly timed Deep Blue Town dance!

Even more adorable when your character has the skin of an ODST and he's fighting for his life to move under all that body armor.

For extra immersion, you sould equip the "fists" in the Others cathegory from the Weapons tab, in the Q menu, so your ODST can dance without a crowbar or anything on his hand.

Hope this has been helpful for y'all, fellers. Have a nice dance dance revolution in your GMod!
