[Spoilers] Weapon Discussion: The G.M.
I wanted to talk about the different weapons added by this mod. I'll start with the Great Maul as that's the one I had to really think about if and how to use it. I may open more about other weapons.

Short Answer: I think it is a jack-of-all-trades, anti-armor Heavy Weapon like The Plank, but most useful by highly trained users. However, it functions most closely to a Hacker.

Explanation: What this means is that the Great Maul is a weapon that:
Attacks multiple enemiesRequires high StrengthBenefits decently from DexterityDoes moderate amounts of Cut and Blunt damage relative to other Heavy WeaponsIt gets a bonus to Armor Penetration unlike other heavy weapons

The downsides are:
The length is equal to the Falling Sun at 25 (really low compared to other Heavy Weapons and Polearms)You miss out on getting more damage from another Heavy Weapon if you would specialize in Cut or Blunt against the right enemy

I'm not a great math guy, so I want to open this discussion about game meta up to others. I know that the armor penetration only gives +20%, which is 0.72 Cut and 1.56 Blunt damage. You're not getting over the base damage of the best of other Heavy Weapons, but you get something that's good against everything. If the user has high Strength, you also get a lot of damage in a single hit at the same swing speed, increasing DPS. All of this while not needing to worry about carrying other weapons to switch out before a fight.

The lack of reach is really bothersome as fighting against multiple enemies is the largest selling-point of Heavy weapons.

Does anyone of this sound familiar? These stats combined are closer to a Hacker than a Heavy Weapon. If it wasn't for the massive weight of the weapon and the massive amount of Blunt damage it does compared to Cut Damage, this would be a perfect for a Hacker with a high skill floor; it would be something to trade out your Long Cleaver with when you're fighting against armored enemies and can afford the higher Strength requirement. Then you would just have a Paladin's Cross for Robots.

The only problem is Hackers are supposed to be giant blades while the Great Maul is a blunt weapon, and the weight of the weapon is stated to be massive, so I understand why it's classified as a Heavy Weapon.

My Conclusion: With this in mind, maybe the best way to treat the Great Maul is like a Hacker. It does decently, but doesn't excel, at fighting multiple enemies because of the length, but it does excellent Armor Penetration and it does higher Blunt damage than all Hackers. This makes it something to replace your Long Cleaver later in the game, or it is something to constantly switch out from the Long Cleaver against armored enemies. Just be aware you may have to train with the Long Cleaver first before you have the Strength to handle the Great Maul, so you may need to spend time training your Heavy Weapons after you make the switch as the Long Cleaver would train the Hacker skill.

What are your guys' thoughts?
