You are correct about the camera not following as much as before, since I rewrote the majority of that code from v0.2. I could make a slider to control how "locked" the camera is to the car.
The first-person camera by default is in the ground, you can change the position of it in Q -> Options -> First Person Settings. Will definitely try to find a better way to calculate the default position for this.
As for motion blur, this addon doesn't add any motion blur so I have no idea lol. Might be an addon conflict or something.
