FAQ's / Trouble shootings
  • You can't see the block / The block doesn't show all settings in terminal
    First check if the block is enabled in your progression tree, otherwise you could either disable the progression in game settings or researche the need blocks.
    If this is not the cause, it could be the downloaded mod files itself is corrupted. In this case the file exist on your local / server mod folder but is unusable.
    The simple fix is, to delete the mod file:
    (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\244850\1879455650)

    Next time you start the game/world the mod file will be automaticly downloaded again.
    If this doesn't work, you could take a look inside the log file to find out what the problem is.

  • Disabled ore is still drilled
    Will it still clear the ore out that is disabled in 'Drill Priority'?
    Check which 'WorkMode' you have selected:
    • Drill: In that case it drills/cut out all materials that are inside the area. Disabled materials are still cut out but not collected and instead spawned. (Make sure you have excluded the unwanted materrial also from the separate "collect floating object" option, otherwise it will be still collected in a second step)
    • Collect: In that case it collects onyl enabled materials that are inside the area and ignores disabled materials. (Selective drilling)

  • Is it posible to mine without getting the ore?
    Yes, set 'WorkMode' to drill and disable all ores (or those you don't want) in the list 'Drill Priority' AND 'Collect Priority'.

What to do, if nothing of the above helped
If you have trouble with the mod, in order to help, I would need some information.
In case of a crash at least a game log file and mod logfile.
In case of trouble while playing, switch off all nanodrills that don't have a problem, increase the mod's loglevel (Type in chat "/nanodrills -loglevel all"), let the game running for a few minutes, after that you could decrease the loglevel again ("/nanodrills -loglevel default") and share the mod logfile together with a short description what you observed (+ the name of the nanodrill having the problem).

Game log file could be found under:
"C:\Users\Usernane\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\SpaceEngineers.log"
Mod log file could be found under:
"C:\Users\Usernane\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Storage\1879455650.sbm_NanobotDrillSystem\NanobotDrillSystem.log"

I love this mod. It started out working flawlessly, but in the last day has stopped clearing all material from the assigned box. There is still plenty of storage available in my base. When turned on, it simple sits purring, as if it were out of material. I restarted the game to see if removed material was somehow still rendering, but didn't work.

All help is greatly appreciated.

In the discription you mentioned several time a config file. I looked through the mod but couldnt identify one by name. Would you please give me the name and location of the setting file? I want to increase max ranges and max offsets. Thanks in advance :)

Please a look into ther Pinned Discussion "Block Settings" I think there should be anything you need.

I have a strange problem, the mod and the block work at first, until I get the first ore. Then it stops working it makes noise as it is still working but doesn't pick up any more ore. It's always the same behavior every time I restart the game.

It gets the following colors: Green and Red where there is no description about it. I can't get the mod to work right.

Please help me understand what's wrong.

Block name: "DrillSystem"
Work mode: "Drill"
Fitted to a 20m cube in front of the ship (On the ground)
Rest: I didn't touch anything. (Default)

I did the same as the demo video.

EDIT.: Looks like the mod doesn't alter or destroy the voxels on the first run but ore once. It also does not show any failed attempt.

Check to make sure your storage is not full, and that there is still ore where you've assigned the area box.

I found a fix, remember to put it after loading after all there is a loading order for the mods.

Hi, I'm on a server with this mod, i can get it to drill, collect and fill (sort of) but its showing that areas are mined but when i get close to the edge or some random ares there is something stopping me reaching it and pushes me back as if i'm rubber banding or there is actually still something there.

Hello, I love your mods! question the drill system used to drill nice and flat. great for making caverns and tunnels. now i get clipping issues and it always drills at this weird wedge angle. is it user error? space engineers update? it still drills and i get the ore but the space left is not very usable.
