Is there a range factor or some other issue I am not aware of ?

In my recent save, I cannot get the things to drill mine, as long as the area is basically on the drill systems / blocks.

I tried to mine a deposit about 350m away, which worked perfectly in my previous save file / world. now it does nothing. I got enough power, I got plenty of storage space. the blocks just stopped working.

once Imove the drill area back to being VERY close to the blocks themselves, they start to work perfectly.

what am I missing ?
