Suggestion: Classical Group needs diversification?
Hi! First of all I love this mod. Words can't do it justice. It's amazing.

To get straight to the point, I believe Greece, Macedon, Rome, and Phoenicia all have the "Imperium" trait since they all belong to the classical group. I just thought the Classical Groups could use a bit of diversification with respect to the civs of antiquity and their unique histories/heritage/regional identity which evolved over time. I know I obviously must not be the only person feeling this, so I thought I'd start a discussion here to get some feedback.

I can see that the imperium trait tried to be a jack of all trades for classical/antiquity civs. It captures how, no matter how they differed between themselves, their legacies were mostly defined by an emphasis on philosophers, kings, prophets, and generals from a bygone era whose actions found renewed relevance or rhyme with the present in retrospect. Simply put, it stresses great people and expansion driven by colonial interests or great generals capable of consecutive, heroic conquest of continental scale.

As shrewd and totally appropriate I find this trait to be for the classical civs, my PERSONAL opinion is that perhaps it should remain a temporary, generic placeholder rather than a permanent one before a more distinct, flavorful, anthropologically suitable, homage-like bonus to each his own. My main reasoning behind this is that, "Imperium" does not truly adhere to a distinct, regional/ethnic inspiration.

What do you guys think? :D

Maybe a split between Hellenic (Greece, Macedonia, Epirus, Byzantium...), Italic (Rome, Etruscans...) and Semitic civs (Phoenicia, Carthage, Israe, Assyria...l) with bonuses adapted according to the gameplay style ?

I think to start, Rome and Byzantium definitely needs to be split from Macedonia and Epirus.

Okay I see, it could work indeed : Roman group and Hellenic group. Hope modders will take a look into this proposal :)

There are a lot of them, but I think Strudeler's historical mods deserve to be a part of it as well.
