Cities: Skylines

Theme Mixer 2
Jockman13 14 Sep, 2021 @ 5:06am
My Theme Mixer 2 icon has disappeared
This bug has been unfixable for months now, the icon disappeared for one day...for no reason. I had speculation that another mod had caused this to occur, I uninstalled every mod except theme mixer still nothing, even with harmony installed, nothing. Theme Mixer is apparently activated in content manager, still nothing. I unsubscribed from every mod asset, map theme and lut, I even uninstalled the game, I deleted the Cities Skylines directory, and reinstalled it from fresh. Theme Mixer still doesn't work, with harmony and everything, I have no other mods or assets installed, still nothing. I have realised that the same thing is happening to Ultimate Eyecandy now, I think that Theme Mixer is working, because every time I have it installed, one of my map themes is still active, despite disabling it and unsubscribing from it, it is so bizarre. I think that the icon is just invisible or something. I thought it may of been a glitch caused by a lack of storage, I uninstalled some games...I have 300gb of free space now...it did nothing. I have 32gb of ram too, I don't know why this would be happening...I am so confused and tired of this, I can't even play Cities Skylines anymore...could you please help me, I have had no luck finding help with this gameplay impacting issue

Thanks :)

first sorry for the english, it's not my native language. I had the same problem because I used the UI Resolution mod and was scaled at 80%, when switched to 100% the mode icon reappeared because it was hidden. I hope it helps !

Same issue.

Its not the UI Resolution mod.
Also doesnt work with deactivating it.

But its definetly a mod causing it, because without mods I can create winter maps, with mod there is no snow anymore.

Bad news, I found the mistake: When you deactivate all the mods but Theme Mixer 2 it doesnt work. When you deactive Theme Mixer 2 though, it works (at least the themes itself). Means this mod is broken!

Found the mistake: It was indeed the UI Scale Mod who hides it. Easiyl adjust the slider to the smallest Scale Possible and it will reappera.

you need to enable a mod to fix it, i don't quite remember which one it is but ill keep looking. Mod isn't broken though

Open the file "ThemeMixerSettings.xml" (located in your "\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines" folder on a Windows PC) with Notepad and check the settings for <UITogglePosition>.

Mine was somehow set to <UITogglePosition xsi:nil="true" /> which was making it invisible. There could also be <x> and <y> coordinate values in between opening and closing <UITogglePosition> tags that might be putting the button off your screen. Either way, change whatever is there to <UITogglePosition /> and save.

Next time you load, it will reset the icon position to the top left corner of the screen.

The above post is indeed the answer .. open "ThemeMixerSettings.xml" (in the path jc21539 quoted above) and delete any lines between <UITogglePosition> and <UITogglePosition />, so that there is nothing between these two lines in that file.

NOTE: You need to enable 'Hidden' files in your windows explorer to be able to see AppData in your "Users\<name>\" directory. For most Windows installs, "Users\" is on the root of your C: drive, but it could be in a different location, depending on how Windows is installed on your PC.

This will cause the icon to appear in the top left corner (that is position 0,0). You can then use the right mouse button to move it wherever you want.

I had a toolbar installed that allowed shrinking the toolbar before I moved back to Yet Another Toolbar. This placed the icon for Theme Mixer somewhere it could not be seen when the toolbar returned to 100% size.
