How To Export And Import Your Character
Moving your character from one Warband Version to another is actually quite easy. The only caveat is that the characters must be named the same. As in identical. Any variation will fail, but there is a way to beat that, and I'll share that too.

Say you have a character for Vanilla Surprise, or any other Warband 1.174 mod/game/crazy world. Let's say the name is 'Chuckle Head' and we'll leave it at that.

Chuckle Head is a level 35 character with more than forty hours, and you don't like the idea of being fresh meat for anybody in Diplomacy Surprise. Chuckle Head also has 340,000 dinars.

Open the game Chuckle Head is currently lording over the land. Hit C to view the character screen. In the lower left hand corner is a button called "Statistics" and you should select that.

The next screen has the data, and two large buttons on the right. Export and Import. Since this is the home game Chuckle Head grew up on, you select "Export" and agree to the confirmation dialog.

Then you start a new game in Diplomacy Surprise. Create the character and name him/her Chuckle Head, just like the original. The stats don't matter, but the image does! Make that character appear the way you like graphically, as that will not change. Make the character. Wander the city to skip the starter quest, or accept the starter quest. Either way, get to the place where you are outside the starting city you chose.

Hit the C key to open the character screen. Like before, select 'Statistics' and now you choose 'Import' and accept the dialog confirmation.

All of your skills, levels and stats are now there, including your glorious 340,000 dinars! What did NOT get ported over is your armor, original appearance if you made Chuckle Head look different, and your inventory is not moved over.

However, you're rich! Time to see the merchants!

Scenario Two... "Oh no, my dyslexia kicked in and I named my new character Huckle Chead! All that time on the sliders for looks is wasted!"

NOPE!

This is how you fix it. Leave Huckle Chead on the map all alone, save and exit. Or minimize the game, either way works.

Go to your Documents folder. There, you will see two folders for Mount and Blade. One is for saved games. Don't go into that one. Go into the other one that has no save game mention on it. Now you will see a folder that says Characters. Open that. Here, you'll have a text file named Chuckle Head and simply rename the file to Huckle Chead and save it.

Go back to the game, load it up and get Huckle Chead on the screen, and hit C for character screen, go to the Statistics button, now hit Import and bingo! Your new character has inherited it all.

Now I know what you're probably thinking. What if I go an open that character's text file in Documents and see the spot for gold, and change it to five million and import that little gem? Well, you'll have 5 million dinars in the game. Most people would call that a 'cheat' without using the cheat menu, but it's apparently allowed.

Good luck, I hope you all enjoy the mod. ^_^
