Sci-Fi Corporation Emblems
This topic has been pinned, so it's probably important

Post your suggestions for new corporations here
Please read this entire post before posting your own suggestion. Saves everyone the time and effort. Thanks!

Corporations that I considered but rejected:
- Stark Industries (Iron Man): The logo is atrocious, does not look good in Stellaris Gold and is barely readable because of how low resolution the actual emblems are in game. Also, it's Disney property.
- RED, BLU and TF2 logos: While Blu looks tight, but still workable, the Red logo is a disaster - thin lines, squiggly writing and much detail does not translate into Stellaris Gold at all. And because I couldn't with good conscious include Red, I decided to leave Blue out too, because what's Blu without Red? TF2 logo didn't make the cut because apart from the logo of the game itself, I couldn't find any reference to it being an actual, canon corporation, apart from a TF Industries company, but their logo is just writing so it's kinda bad.
- All of the Outer Worlds corps: Their logos are just too complicated, too colourful and packed with writing. I just couldn't fit them in a 128/128 pixel square and not squint. They're great for the fanciful old-west aesthetic of the Outer Worlds, but not for the slick, simple aesthetic of Stellaris, I'm afraid.

Corporations I might add in the future:
- Abstergo (Assassin's Creed): Don't know much about them and never played an Assassin's Creed game so not sure if they fit the theme/requirements. If you think they fit tell me why and I'll look into it.

Before you suggest a corporation, make sure their logo/emblem conforms to these 3 rules:
1. No more than 2 lines of writing, and no more than 10 characters. It just looks bad because Stellaris emblems are really low resolution (128*128), and also any logo that just spells out the name of the corporation in a generic font without any flair is frankly ugly. Hyperion is close to being the limit of what can be accepted.
2. No Disney flagship properties. Their lawyers often have no idea how Fair Use works and can be overzealous in securing their company's IPs. So no thank you.
3. No logo that obviously breaks the Steam or Paradox terms of service. Hopefully don't have to explain that one.

Thanks for reading this and looking forward to your suggestions. Cheers!

Thanks! I had to reinstall Windows and can't find my Photoshop installation disc so it might take a while before I get to it but I'll definitely include Czerka once I sort this mess out. Their logo is slick. Stay tuned.

No hurry. I'm currently more or less waiting for Federations anyway. Just thought I'd drop the suggestion.

OK, got everything back in working order so should start adding the new corp emblems shortly. Thank you for your patience!

I've had a look at the suggestions and decided to include the following:
- Vault Tec: nice, simple logo, looks great and VT is the most powerful corporation in FO universe, so it makes sense.
- Ultor: managed to make it look decent enough to be recognisable and it fits the bill too.
- Mann Co.: After cutting out the slogan the logo looks readable and kinda cool actually.
- Czerka: Slick logo, great provenance (even though it's a SW universe, the Czerka logo belongs to EA, not Disney), and overall a good fit. A little bit of detail was lost when applying Stellaris Gold effect, but hopefully it's still recognisable.

Those that didn't make the cut:
- RED, BLU and TF2 logos: While Blu looks tight, but still workable, the Red logo is a disaster - thin lines, squiggly writing and much detail does not translate into Stellaris Gold at all. And because I couldn't with good conscious include Red, I decided to leave Blue out too, because what's Blu without Red? - All of the Outer Worlds corps (sorry Legion Main): Their logos are just too complicated, too colourful and packed with writing. I just couldn't fit them in a 128/128 pixel square and not squint. They're great for the fanciful old-west aesthetic of the Outer Worlds, but not for the slick, simple aesthetic of Stellaris, I'm afraid.

Great suggestion. The corpo fits and the logo looks like it'll fit right in Stellaris. Will add over the weekend. Thanks!

EDIT: Added Robo Ready as a new corpo!

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll see what I can do.

EDIT: Added. Turned out quite decent I think. I was worried the thin lines wouldn't be visible or be washed out, so I made them THICCer and it worked. Once again, thanks for the suggestion!

Alright, after a brief hiatus of several months I finally managed to update the mod. Several new corpos added and the mod should no longer give you the "outdated" warning. Going to update the version to 3.0 tomorrow (when Nemesis releases).

Sorry for the wait. Life got in the way of fun for a while, that's all. Added the latest suggestions (dating back to Dec last year) plus one new corpo from the movie Moon (2009). Hope you enjoy!

EDIT: Now that I look at the logos in game they look kinda dulled down compared to my previous ones. I lost my previous setup for stellaris gold effect and had to recreate it from scratch. I'll work on it some more and get a fix out asap.

EDIT2: Stellaris Gold effect is back and better than ever. I now use two presets of the effect: Bulkier logos with large shapes (like the new Zeonic) will now look more like gold bars, which I personally like, while logos with small elements and thin lines will use a different effect scaling - they'll look more like gold inlay with a slight pop to them.
