First - Try 'Refresh'
If you think the info displayed is incorrect, please try using the Refresh before continuing with any other troubleshoot efforts. You can refresh the current egg selection or all on the Best Egg Maker's screen.
The egg information is read when you select an egg and doing this also involves a local area scan for tamed dinos of the egg's type. To prevent constant scanning for dinos, and a delay on the UI each time you select an egg, the egg's info is cached locally. By default this information will purge itself after 1 min. You can force the cache to purge by using either of the Refresh buttons. Purging the cache will force the Best Egg Maker to rescan for egg information.
Cached Egg Info is -only- used for UI display purposes. When you click Make Best Egg the server will regather the authoritive information it needs.

No Egg Ancestors Found?
If the egg's ancestors are not nearby you will get an error saying no ancestors were found- you will not be able to make a Best Egg. This is not a bug. For this message to even happen means the ancestor info was read from the egg. So there are ancestors for that egg, but none of the ancestor dinos were found nearby. The ancestors are needed because that is where the stats are coming from. Eggs only have the stats randomly chosen at time of creation, they do not contain all of the ancestors' actual stats. Default range is ~16 foundations.

Parent Not Found?
If either parent is not found nearby, but other ancestors were found, you will get a warning telling you results may not be optimal. You may still choose to Make Best Egg using the ancestors that were found. If the parents are still available you should get them in range of the Best Egg Maker to make the best eggs. If they are not available you can still make the best egg you can with what ancestors are there.

Cryopod?
Ancestor dinos in cryopods are not going to be found. I may consider adding something for this if there is enough demand for it.

Wild Eggs?
Wild fertilized eggs (wyverns, rock drakes, etc) are not going to work- the egg info screen will tell you this if you try to use one. There is no work around for this. Wild fertilized eggs do not have any dino ancestors to reference for stats. What you see on the egg is just text to tell you what level the wild dino was. There is no reference pointing back to an actual dino to pull stats from, if that specific wild dino even still exists.
