Which is also why I included the craft override in the Spawn / Engram / Craft / Config discussion.
I'll add an example override to that discussion for including element.
Each wild stat can have 0-255 levels allocated to it. Baby's level is all the stat levels added up + 1 (so all 0's is a lvl 1 dino). Having more in one stat vs another does not limit the future potential. Having 100 Food does not reduce what Melee Dmg can be as you breed etc.
When wild dinos spawn, this comes into play a bit kind of sort of because the game tries to allocate a lvl pnt spread across the stats using the server's dino max lvl settings as a max for the potential. So in a way, a wild dino with 100 Food seems like wasted stats sure, but that 40 Melee Dmg stat may have ended up at 40 even if Food was not 100. This only applies for wild dino spawns.
So... with Best Eggs you can mate a dino with huge melee and a dino with huge O2 and the Best Egg will have huge both melee and O2. Nothing is lost. No future potential is lost.
At first I may just allow choices from a dropdown sort of deal for the 6 color values.
I hope to possibly offer a dino preview display as you select the colors though that ... I have no idea how others have done it so that would be a lot more R&D..
Having a cost associated is another thing I've considered, for the eggs as well. Possibly doing it in a way similar to how Upgrade Station does it. Could make it configurable some how.
Actually.. maybe this can be done.. challenge accepted haha..
Especially when you use something like the s+ hatchery, leave breeders on mate and let the eggs fill up all ready to hatch when it convenient for you.
I hate having to feel tied to the game like I cannot even turn it off because my damn pig babies gonna be born and I gotta be around to imprint.. haha..
Edit: Maybe even a destroy and/or dump all option as well.
