Greek firethrowers Empire of Nicea
Does anybody know why i am unable to recruit greek fire throwers and spatathoi guard in campaing with the Byzantines?
These are Tier1 units and i have almost reached the Tier2 unit upgrade however i seem not to be able to recruit these units.
Are these units only for custom battle?
Can anybody help?

there is an event that you have to pay 10k ducats to keep the Greek fire thrower unit, maybe you refuse to pay the price, and that unit just disappears

I have managed to find out.
They are recrutable from the barracks chain.
The barracks built in order to recruit catapults contain the greek firethrowers as well.

But by any means i cant find the spathatoi guard which is some kind of elite infantry in the early period.
I cant find any way to recruit them.
Could they only be available in custom battles?

Yes, a modder from 1212 told me that they have been removed because there is going to be a brand new update coming that is historically accurate and better represented of the Empire of Nicaea and other relative empires.
