same here, new game crashes also

In the patch notes it says that the new update is not compatible with previous savegame:

"PREVIOUS SAVEGAME NOT COMPATIBLE - MUST RESTART CAMPAIGN"

I started playing a new game today and I still experience this problem. I'll try to load a save, the game will crash, and then trying to load any save will cause a crash. I just want to play without having to start a new campaign every time I load up.

same here, completely new game, no extra mods, and boom, can't load the saves from earlier today, also, cannot find the saved game directory on my computer, seem to have vanished completely...

same problem, any solutions?

Hey I stared a game yesterday (Jan 16) with the new release and I cant load the save. Anyone else having save issues?

I reinstalled all mods and started a new campaign. The game was going perfect untill turn 155 when it crashed again.

No issues with anything, saved turn 145. Now saved game will NOT LOAD and crashes?? Same problem here..

they updated startpos file for campaign that tends to break save games
startpos is the campaign config settings file , save games use the same format to store your campaign ie the save file is basically an updating startpos file

basically it was getting corrupted, which is why it had to be updated

first campaign as england hit round 335 and crashed, then went kingdom of Sicily and had 2 saves one turn 139 and one 141 and both wouldn't load which made no sense, now my third campaign as latin empire around turn 150 fails to load.

lost motivation at this rate to make a new campaign

You can activate an older version in "Betas" if you right-click on the game in the steam library and go to Properties. But that's not really necessary, I saved, shutdown the game then reloaded after 30min or so and then it was immediately unlocked, no idea what the problem was but now it works.

this will revert the game's version, not the mod's? Also, I cant really do that, my game crashes on loading any save from my old campaign...
