Hoplite Problem
It is honestly insanely infuriating how Overpowered Hoplites and Pikemen are in this mod. I have had multiple Veteran armies of Principes wiped out because the Militia Hoplites pushed through entire formations and did kept beating experienced troops while surrounded for multiple minutes. I'd understand if this were for Elite Hoplites, but for the Militia to push back lined defences and survive encirclements it would not survive neither in Vanilla, nor mods like DEI, is baffling.

Whether it be lowering their stats or having the encirclement effects actually do something, something needs to be done about this. It is both annoying and disheartening seeing my Legion being crushed because a Militia Hoplite unit decided it'd turn into the 300.

The "Epistratoi" and "Ekdromoi" Hoplite units specifically feel like they take no morale debuffs when surrounded, and almost always fight to the last man. There have only been a few battles where I've actually won against hoplite armies, and that was because of overwhelming numbers, and I still had major casualties that rendered the army basically useless until replenishment

Hoplite are very very easy to kill with missile weapons. Use the deadly missiles sub mod. Get them in the rear and they will melt away.

this is how you do it. 1. Pin the enemy pike unit in the front 2.. Charge the pikes from the rear with a strong sword unit. 3.. Then double click on your charging sword unit to a point BEYOND the front of the pikes and let them move INTO the enemy pike unit 4. Click on attack and your sword unit will chew up the pikes 5. The pike unit will be in disarry...move your front unit into the pike from the front....THE END. Pikes are dead meat. rinse and repeat. .. you can also slam a heavy Cav unit into their rear and follow up with mixing your swords into the mess of down pikemen ..move the horse out and the sword unit will chop them up.

thanks. looking at it now it seems like both a skill issue on my part, and that velites and slingers just cant do much to hoplites from the front. I apologise if i came off as rude, had just gotten done losing an entire army, my bad. The mod is lovely and i have to thank all who worked on it
