Sorry for replying so late, I didn't get a notification.
You were just unlucky, they do still appear. Right in my first test run I found one in coal pits. I've also seen streamers still encountering them.
Either that or you have some other mod installed that changes the biomes (Rare scene commonifier is compatible).

Funny thing really, as soon as I got my notification in turn I started getting anvils again. Luck is a fickle thing, eh? Great mod by the way, thank you.
