*something is closed, and something crashes on the ground*
*loud footsteps are heard, and radio shuts off*
the person could eventually die, or meet up with new people and have people shift between radios, and then eventually the radio station could broadcast actual songs and stuff for survivors after about a year. sort of a cool topic in my opinion but if done well could be pretty neat.
Good idea! I'll keep that in mind as I move forward! Thank you for your suggestion, I'll let you know when it gets implemented :D

Background: The Hilltop Survivor Camp sends out a message to survivors in the Knox County area on day two.
- First broadcast, day two -
??? - *Shuffling noises*
??? - Hello? Is it working?
??? - Can you hear it in there?
??? - Okay good. My name is Nate.
(Blue text for Nate)
Nate - Nate Anderson.
Nate - To anyone still alive in Knox, listen up.
Nate - We've got a safe place. Somewhere without the dead.
Nate - It's between Muldraugh and West Point. Take the highway until you see a clearing.
Nate - After that, walk south. You can't miss it.
Nate - We've got walls, guns, clean water, and food.
Nate - If you're willing to pitch in, we could use extra hands around here.
- Second broadcast, day four -
(Broadcast referring to Hilltop Scout NPCs you can encounter in Muldraugh and West Point, and warning of bandits)
Nate - This is Nate. We've had some new recruits lately.
Nate - We sent them into West Point and Muldraugh to scavenge supplies and find survivors.
Nate - If you should run into one of them, they'll lead you back here.
Nate - Back to where it's safe.
Nate - Heard some ♥♥♥♥ about bandits killing and robbing people on the bridge east of West Point.
Nate- There's corpses walking around. What good will come of killing each other?
Nate - It's not like there's many of us left out there as is.
Nate - Keep your heads on a swivel, people.
- Third broadcast, day five -
(Broadcast warning about gunfire attracting zeds)
Nate - Hey, it's Nate.
Nate - We had some deadheads at the entrance today.
Nate - Guards took em out easily enough, I guess.
Nate - Noise from the gunfire drew a lot more outta the trees.
Nate - Don't use guns unless your back's to a wall, people.
Nate - Noise draws them for miles.
Nate - Sure as ♥♥♥♥ ain't easy to bust one's head open with a bat though.
- Fourth broadcast, day seven -
(Broadcast talking about recent events on the radio, farming, and a bandit group in West Point.)
Nate - If you've been listening to the radio this whole time, then you already know the scoop.
Nate - The virus has left Knox county. It's global.
Nate - None of us here were really counting on a rescue, but morale's still ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Nate - We've started planting crops. Canned food's gotta last us through winter.
Nate - To anyone out there with a solid camp, you should start planting as soon as possible.
Nate - It's not like anyone's gonna be canning more food anytime soon, right?
Nate - We heard about a group of bandits holding survivors hostage in West Point.
Nate - Some construction site across the street from the supermarket.
Nate - For those of you vigilante types, I wouldn't bother taking them head on.
Nate - Apparently they've got four guards with guns on the entrances.
Nate - Best to just avoid them. Word is they're quite trigger happy.
- Fifth broadcast, day ten, morning -
(Broadcast talking about boiling water)
Nate - Nate again. Might wanna stick around to hear this.
Nate - For those of you outside the cities, listen up.
Nate - The sinks ain't gonna have clean water in em forever.
Nate - Probably best for you to put some pots, pans, and bowls outside and gather rainwater.
Nate - Don't drink that ♥♥♥♥ without boiling it first though.
Nate - There's already way more than enough trying to kill you right now as is.
Nate - Drinking contaminated water ain't a way I plan to go out, personally.
Nate - If you've got skill in carpentry, could build yourself some barrels.
Nate - We've got em here. Works great, for when the well runs dry.
Nate - It's good to have-
*distant gunfire*
*faint yelling*
Nate - What the ♥♥♥♥ is goi-

- Sixth broadcast, day eleven, midday -
(Broadcast talking about base raiders)
Nate - This is Nate. ♥♥♥♥ hit the fan yesterday.
Nate - Some crazy ♥♥♥♥♥ charged the gate with machetes and bats.
Nate - Was able to gun them down quick enough, noise drew a mob of the dead.
Nate - Lost two of our own keeping them out.
Nate - Was cleaning up the corpses all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ day.
Nate - If you've got a camp, watch your back.
Nate - People always want what you have. Best be able to protect it.
Nate - Everyone here's scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about more showing up. Possibly with guns next time.
Nate - Personally, I'm not sure if we'll be able to fend off another attack.
- Repeating broadcast, day twelve -
Nate - This is Nate. I'm setting this broadcast to repeat.
Nate - They need all hands out there working. Can't keep doing these I'm afraid.
Nate - If you're looking for a safe place and can pitch in, come find us between Muldraugh and West Point.
Nate - Friendlies only. We need people who know what they're doing out there.
Nate - We've got guns, walls, clean water, and food.
Nate - Good luck out there people.
Nate - Hope to see you down the road.
I added it in; I think I'd like the russian mercenaries to continue if you wouldn't mind writing a bit more, add a story line where we can have about 3-7-ish broadcasts where they eventually die over the radio. Don't type in emotes like *goes to window* for the transcript, that isn't translatable over a radio, only noises/dialouge are. I'm also just leaving most of it in russian, I think it's really immersive.
I dig it, I'll add it in! But I don't want players to think that I've installed maps into the mod so I'm gonna futz with it and make it so that the radio goes <krrrzz> whenever Nate describes where the place is. heheheh Good job! I really dig this transcript.
(First broadcast, day 182, setting up shop in the studio)
*Beeping noises, brief static*
(Yellow text for old NNR intro)
?: NNR. What matters to you. What matters-
*shuffling noises*
(pink text)
??: The light’s on. Think it’s working.
(Dark green text)
???: Alright, sweet.
???: Hey there. Half a year later, still kicking.
???: Name’s Jason. Jason Philips.
Jason: For those of you that are hearing this, you probably remember this frequency.
Jason: NNR used to broadcast from this very studio.
Jason: Granted, the power’s out. Best we could do is blow the dust off an old HAM radio outta the storage closet.
Jason: Past few months haven’t been kind on this place, lemme tell ya.
Jason: Vines growing on the walls in some rooms. Windows busted out.
Jason: We’ve barricaded the entrances. Plan on staying here a week.
Jason: For those of you bloodthirsty types that might be listening, don’t even bother.
Jason: We’ve got someone on watch 24/7 with a scoped rifle.
Jason: And we won’t miss. That I can promise you.
Jason: Broadcasting like this, for the most part, is just something to pass the time.
Jason: Contrary to what you might think, reading material’s a bit tough to find as of lately.
Jason: Same can be said for most supplies, to be honest.
Jason: Anyway, I’ll be on tomorrow, same time. Jason out.
(Second broadcast, day 183, Jason talks about NNR’s role in suppressing the truth in the early days of the apocalypse)
Jason: Jason here. Last night I had something on my mind I just couldn’t shake.
Jason: The people that broadcasted here, the NNR reporters.
Jason: For a good four to five days, they kept the reality of what was going on in Knox under wraps.
Jason: I had people telling me early on that they were just dealing with what information they were given.
Jason: Given the circumstances surrounding the Knox Event, who in their right mind would trust the official story?
Jason: Phones cut, nobody allowed in or out. These people were journalists. Finding the truth was supposed to be their job.
Jason: Sure, once those refugees made it out then they ran with the real story.
Jason: Too little, too late. So many people I knew personally were unprepared for this.
Jason: I’m not saying they should’ve caused a panic nationwide. No good would’ve come from that.
Jason: But half the survivors I spoke to early on barely had enough to eat in the early days.
Jason: I get not everyone was prepping as much as I was, but my gut tells me a lot of people would’ve lasted a lot longer with some more information, ya know?
Jason: Makes no difference now, I guess. Jason out.
(Third broadcast, day 184, Jason vents over the deaths of two group members recently)
Jason: Death is something we’re all familiar with by now. Anyone still alive today’s seen more than enough corpses to last em ten lifetimes.
Jason: Doesn’t make losing people any easier though.
Jason: Last week we lost two of our own scavenging in a Giga Mart.
Jason: Their names were Violet and Chris. Good people – met them two weeks in.
Jason: Saved my ass more times than I can even count.
Jason: Them, along with Jack, our lookout, were siblings.
Jason: He’s not taking it well, lemme tell ya.
Jason: They volunteered to go. Always put the group before themselves.
Jason: Opened the door to the storage room and over a dozen deadheads came flooding out.
Jason: It happened so quick. Was nothing I could do.
Jason: Wish I’d just told them to stay at camp.
Jason: Talk to you tomorrow. Jason, out.
(Final broadcast. Jack snaps over the loss of his siblings. Day 185)
Jason: This is Jason. Spotted a mob of at least fifty of em pass by today.
Jason: The noises they make, I can never get used to it, I gotta tell ya.
Jason: It’s like something out of-
(Greyed out text, suggesting the voice is coming from a distance away)
??: Jack? Jack, what are you doing? Why are you pointing that thing at-
*BANG*
(Woman screams)

*BANG*
Jason: JACK! JACK, WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥?! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!
(Red text)
Jack: This is for Chris and Violet, you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ prick! Don’t act so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ surprised!
Jason: Jack, they volunteered! I didn’t force them to go! It wasn’t-

Note: I plan on adding more to this frequency later on. I want to develop this character for a longer period of time than the first week. Call this Part one, if you like.
(First broadcast, day two. Introductions.)
(pink text)
???: Hello? Is anyone out there?
???: If anyone can hear this, you need to know that you’re not alone out there.
???: The fever missed us. Somehow, we were able to get out of Riverside in one piece.
???: I guess I should introduce myself. I’m Dianne Caldwell. For those of you Riverside locals, odds are you’ve frequented my clothing store at least once or twice.
Dianne: Not like I’m going anywhere near that place anytime soon. Bet you anything those things broke in by now.
Dianne: I’m holed up in a farmhouse just outside the city with my husband, Paul, and three others who I’ve not gotten fully acquainted with yet.
Dianne: In my defense, it was fight or flight back in Riverside. No time for introductions, you know?
Dianne: Christ, how did this happen so quickly? So many people turned in such a short time.
Dianne: We were able to scrape together enough food to last us little over a week. Would’ve been able to get more from the supermarket, but… those things are everywhere.
Dianne: It’s relatively safe here. We had to kill a couple of them that strolled up to the house, but it’s nothing compared to the city.
Dianne: For those of you listening, odds are you’ve had to kill one by now as well.
Dianne: I mean, I have, at least. Not like I had much of a choice, you know? I mean, you hit one of these things in the head and it barely seems to faze them.
Dianne: Sure, it’ll stun them for a moment, but, unless you cave their skulls in they’ll just keep coming.
Dianne: Anyway, we’re going out to scavenge the nearby farmhouses for supplies tomorrow morning. Odds are though, the farmers that own them got the fever, unlike the one that so graciously took us in.
Dianne: Catch you tomorrow, same frequency.
(Second broadcast, day three. Dianne reports on their findings from the scavenging party, and talks about a rumored survivor camp.)
Dianne: Dianne here. Just got back from scavenging the farmhouses nearby.
Dianne: Scored a couple dozen cans of food and a pump-action shotgun. Five boxes of shells as well.
Dianne: Given that everyone in the group besides me had a gun up until this point, they handed it off to me.
Dianne: Never shot one before, but it’s a shotgun. Pretty hard to miss if I nail one of them at medium range, right?
Dianne: Just as I figured, the farmers in the neighboring houses had turned. There’s almost nowhere left that’s going to be safe unless you clear it out.
Dianne: Well, there’s an exception to that, actually. There’s this group of survivors that sent out a broadcast from Rosewood.
Dianne: It's a wide area to search, I know. Word is there's eight of them there and they need more people. They're planning on building some sort of self-sustainable survivalist compound.
Dianne: We don’t have a vehicle yet, so heading there’s not an option at the moment.
Dianne: Once we get one large enough to fit everyone, we’re heading straight there.
Dianne: That unfortunately means going back into the city though. Think if we get desperate enough we’ll start drawing straws.
Dianne: Hope it doesn’t come to that.
Dianne: Talk to you tomorrow everyone.
(Third broadcast, day four. Dianne talks about an incident where a zed gets through their barricades.)
Dianne: Think we’ll be going into town looking for that vehicle sooner than planned.
Dianne: Don’t know how it happened, but one of those things got inside the house last night. None of us heard it breaking in.
Dianne: Paul spotted it first. Tried stabbing at it with a kitchen knife. Came downstairs and saw him struggling to push it off him.
Dianne: Smashed its skull with a frying pan. Was the only thing I could get my hands on at the time.
Dianne: He’s fine, though. Just shaken up. Had me worried for a moment there.
Dianne: I’m going to volunteer to go back into the city. It’s not safe here. Even as far outside the city as we are, it’s just not safe to stay in one place like this.
Dianne: We’re going to find that camp one way or another.
Dianne: Talk to you tomorrow. Or not, depends on how the next few hours go for me.
Dianne: Dianne out.
(Fourth broadcast, day five. Dianne returns from Riverside with a six-seater van for her group. Prepping to leave in search of the camp.)
Dianne: Hey there. Dianne again. Still alive.
Dianne: Made it back with a van to seat all of us. We’re leaving tonight.
Dianne: Riverside’s lost. Even more of those things are out on the streets now. For those of you listening, stay away from the cities.
Dianne: It’s just death around every corner. Everywhere you look. Anyone that didn’t leave town’s out hiding out or dying in the streets.
Dianne: Saw this woman trying to get away from a group of them, but her leg was cut up badly.
Dianne: What she cut it on, I couldn’t say. All I know is, they tore her apart. The screams… God.
Dianne: The noise she was making was what got me the van to begin with. She drew their attention.
Dianne: It’s hard not to think about it. Hell, it’s all I’ve been able to think about for the last few hours.
Dianne: Paul’s asleep on the bed behind me. Said he needed some extra rest after the night before.
Dianne: Anyway, we’re packing the van in about an hour. Just double checking for anything we might’ve forgotten to put in the bags.
Dianne: So, I guess I’ll-
Dianne: Hm? Paul? Paul, what’s the matter?
Dianne: Why are you looking at me like that?
(Blue text)
Paul: HRAAAAAGH!
Dianne: ♥♥♥♥! PAUL! GET-
Dianne: GET OFF!
*Sounds of a struggle*
*Door slams*
*Thump*
*Thump*
*Thump*
(greyed out text, voice coming from behind door)
??: Dianne? What’s going-
Dianne: It’s Paul. He turned. *sob* I couldn’t-
*Thump*
??: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Christ. Should we just-
Dianne: No. I can’t leave him like that. I won’t just-
*Thump*
??: Alan, you still got that hammer?
*Thump*
*Thump*
??: Dianne, I’ll do it. You shouldn’t have to.
??: Just go downstairs, okay? Pack the van.
<pause>
*SLAM*
*Thud*
(Green text)
??: I’m sorry, Paul.
Paul: HRAA-
*Thwack!*
*Thwack!*
*Crunch!*
*Splat!*
*Splat!*
??: *pant*
??: *pant*
*Shuffling noise*
(Fifth broadcast. Day seven. Dianne reaches the camp of Rosewood survivors with what’s left of her group.)
Dianne: Dianne here.
Dianne: Paul… turned. He must’ve been concealing a bite.
Dianne: Somehow, was able to throw him off me and lock him in the room.
Dianne: Looking back, I don’t know how I managed it.
Dianne: We found the camp in Rosewood. Just before we ran out of gas, too.
Dianne: They were cautious of us at first but warmed up to us pretty quick once we showed them the food we had in our trunk.
Dianne: Emptied out a Spiffo's on the way here. Was completely stocked.
Dianne: They're starting to build the walls as we speak. This place'll be a fortress before long.
Dianne: My walkie’s almost outta juice. Until I get more batteries for this thing, I won't be able to broadcast any longer.
Dianne: Talk to you soon, folks. Keep safe.
Dianne: Dianne, signing off. For now, at least.

(Blue text for Mike, forgot to include in the document. Another multi-part story, this is part one)
If the line about Harry Potter books could be replaced with 'Lord of the Rings', that would be fantastic. Promise to not goof up the dates again in the future, lol
