Experimental Psionics: Empowered Gem List
You have a 20% chance to pull 1 Random GEM upgrade from Loot.

The 17 following Active Abilities are available on the new GEM weapon upgrades:

  • Soul Fire - Does guaranteed psionic damage to an organic enemy. Ignores cover and armor.
  • Soul Steal - Returns half of the damage dealt by Soul Fire as health. Cannot exceed starting health
  • Stasis - Completely stuns the target for 1 turn, but renders them immune to any damage or attack.
  • Stasis Shield - Stasis can be cast on allies, rendering them immune to any attacks, and stunned, for 1 turn.
    Unconscious allies cannot be targeted by Stasis Shield.
  • Insanity - Debilitating telepathic attack that can inflict different negative conditions, including mental control of the target.
  • Schism - Insanity now does a small amount of guaranteed damage, and applies Rupture to the target.
  • Inspire - Immediately grant a bonus action to an ally within sight range. 3-turn cooldown. Does not require LOS.
  • Null Lance - Project a beam of psionic energy that damages every target it passes through.
  • Domination - Permanently mind control an enemy. Only one successful Domination can be performed per mission.
  • Void Rift - Generate an explosive field of Psionic energy that damages everything within. Organic enemies have a chance to suffer Insanity.
  • Phase Walk - Teleport, similar to Avatar's teleport.
  • Psi Reanimation - Raise a nearby humanoid corpse as a zombie. You can have several zombies at the same time.
  • Null Ward - Cover yourself and nearby allies with psionic shields, similar to ADVENT Shieldbearer's Energy Shield ability.
  • Soul Merge - A mix between Inspire and Holy Warrior, give an action to an ally and boost their offensive stats.
  • Soul Storm - A close range ability with large area of effect that deals damage to enemies and destroys their cover.
  • Psionic Conduit - Activate to make the next Psionic ability a free action. Each time Psionic Conduit is activated, the soldier's Will is reduced by 10. When the soldier's Will falls below 50%, Psionic abilities deal 50% reduced damage and Psi Offense is reduced by 33%.
  • Mind Burst - Overloads a mind-controlled target's brain with Psionic energy until it bursts in a violent explosion. Deals Psionic damage equal to 15% of the primary target's Will stat to all targets within 4 tiles.
