An amazing example of Source Engine mapping in 2024
I recently watched The Librarian's videos on this map series and was introduced to it, and now having played some of it, I have to say, as someone who has been into Half-Life mapping before HL2 released, I'm absolutely blown away at the creativity in this entire collection.

What has been accomplished here is not only an amazing contribution to the Liminal Space mapping genre, but an amazing "puzzle" map all its own, and all done without any Gmod LUA trickery; it's all vanilla Source mapping techniques! You could probably play this on HL2 or HL2:DM if you wanted, assuming they had a 64-bit version.

Indeed, it's more accurate to say puzzle MAPS, since the creator has done something that very few other GMod maps do: properly implemented vanilla single-player level transitions, transforming what is on its own an interesting puzzle/maze map into a sprawling, multi-map adventure with its own lore. And, because it's using the vanilla save system when you go across level transitions, it keeps the entire state of the map saved as you move between them, unlike Garry's Mod Sandbox saves.

I will be watching this collection with great interest!

Can’t wait for more from P’nk! These are probably some of my favorite Gmod maps ever. (They’re also the only ones I’ve ever quit due to jumpscaring myself, not the mapper’s fault, I just didn’t expect one to include a HL:2 zombie). Really hoping for more outdoors areas like in Ucomplex, as those dead forests outside the city are excellently terrifying without any NPCs or monsters.
