1a .The city has a it's own life cycle, it can vary from 997,000 to 1,004,000. Just wait.
1b. Check to see if you turned on ALL required mods

2. Why is the metro turned off?
2a. Because it spends Citizen units limit. You can enable it and play with it now that the city is past 1 million.
2b. You won't ever see very high usage as everything is at walking distance

3. Why are there no buses?
3. Because they spend vehicles from the Vehicle limit. They are needed for goods/product transport

4. Cims don't move into new empty Residential buildings but buildings are built and at 0/0 households.
4. That is because the Citizen Limit is maxed out once again at 524k. Your metro might not work for the same reason.

5. What map is this?
5. It is a heavily landscaped Diamond Coast.

6. Why are train cargo stations flashing no road connection icon?
6. Because I used highway ramps to connect them but the game doesn't get that. It works nonetheless.

7. Why is there still demand for Commercial zones?
7. Because there is ALWAYS more demand for C zones, but no real need.
