I have placed the SS Domesticated Beehive

I have rare flowers in the beehive

Bees are buzzing around it. It is producing honey.

No crop plots are irrigated - not even on adjacent squares.

I tried placing stone junction piping under the beehive - still not irrigated.

Taps connected to the junction pipe that run under the beehive - still not irrigated.

Is the tooltip that says this thing irrigates just a planned feature that never happened, or what?
