Don't store items that have spoil timers.
It's all you can do
Anything that is planned for certain is on the roadmap.
The root cause is keeping track of spoil timers. The same thing will happen with other inventories with a high number of spoilable items.
WC didn't fix it per se... They worked around it by reducing the slot count and increasing the stack size. Virtually what I suggested you could do yourself.
You're welcome to checkout the roadmap to see if anything has been locked in though.
Otherwise pull resource exclusions I think... but that is pull mechanic as well
