Anyone else having problems with mutator gender swap after the update?
Since the 1.8 update, my gender swap seems to no longer work.

yes can confirm that we cannot gender swap on our server via the mutators on any dinos. We can still gender assign though.

Same problem on the cluster I play. The gender swap pulse appears to be broken.

Same on my cluster

hey is the mutation pulse also busted? seems only a quarter of the babies are mutated even tho all the mothers received the pulse

If you're getting anything above the vanilla mutation rate then no its not busted.
Sounds to me like normal RNG based on the mechanics of how mutations actually work.

Just because a mutation occurs... Doesnt mean it sticks so to say. Mutator merely makes them occur 100% of the time. But otherwise does not affect the rest of the process.

yes the mutator guarantees a mutation. but this is not happening. i have 20 females all level 224 (identical clones) and the babies that come out are more often 224 and the fathers level without mutation. only a small percentage are gaining a mutation. either 228 or 4 levels above the father. i use 2 mutators for double mutation.

before wildcards update i never had this issue. always got either 228 or 4 levels above the father. never anything else.

What I was trying to say was that the mutator only affects the process early on... So if you're getting anything above the 3%ish rate... Then the mutator is working.

However, as I mentioned above there is more to the process that the mutator doesn't touch.

As an example whether the mutation landed on the father or mother's side.

If one side is at 20/20 that reduces the ability of successful mutations by at least 50%.

Whilst it sets the mutation rate to 100% early in the process... That doesn't mean you see 100% of those mutations at the end of the process.

So if anything else is occurring to affect that... It's beyond the mutators affects.

yea i know all this.. what i'm telling you is that the mutation pulse is not guaranteeing a mutation. i've been using this mod since it came out and i have bred thousands if not 10s of thousands of creatures using the mutator. all my level 224 females are unmutated. therefore i expect with a double mutation pulse, any mutations that land on the female side will end up with a baby of level 228. any on the fathers side will end up 4 levels higher than the father.

this is how it has always been. i should not be seeing level 224 or the fathers level with a double mutation pulse

i am only mutating one stat on the male so any levels other than 228 and 4 levels higher than the father means something is not working right.

Where mutations land, and what stats are inherited are separate calculations.
Even with 100% mutations triggers you can still get perfect clones of either parent, or a mix of the two.

And having been also breeding thousands of dinos, with this mod and S+ before it for years... I can confirm that i've witnessed this countless times.

Its compounded once your Prime male hits >20/20 as that bloody halves the chance and makes it even harder. I honestly wouldnt have the patience to do this on official.

I have done breeding earlier today and do not see anything unusual in the occurence of mutations.

But none of this is really on topic for a gender swap issue. If you'd like to discuss more jump on the discord.

I can confirm there is something wonky with the mutations. Most babies not receiving any mutations at all, when they do, its on +2 instead of +4 using 2/2 mutator pulses and clean 0/0 females.
