Super Structures
help configuring engram replacements
Hi I am new to Ark on PC and have started using SS since it adds some gorgeous features. However I have been running into the overflow error common with Ark. I have been reading up and seems part of this problem is from too many engrams learned from what i read. So I am hoping someone can help me figure out how to replace the vanilla engrams with the SS engrams and set them up correctly to unlock at the correct levels and cost the correct points. I assume someone has already done this on their server somewhere and help would be greatly appreciated.

Im assuming that you have some kind of engram unlocker mod?
That is a little excessive... Do you really need all engrams unlocked all of the time?

You need to research engram overrides. Some examples included in the pinned messages.
The problem with doing that though is it will allow the SS Tekengrams without defeating the bosses as to achieve your objective you need to remove the vanilla prerequisites.

no i have Super Structures mod which for example i need to unlock vanilla wood wall to learn SS wood wall for 0 points. I want to remove all the vanilla engrams and replace with the SS engrams in the same level and point requirements to reduce the total engrams that show up and I need to learn. basically removing all the double ups in my engrams and simplifying learning engrams.

I've been using SS since it came out and S+ before that for several years. I know how it works. But you were stating that you are getting an overflow related crash.

That does not typically occur if the only mod you're using is SS. Hence why I thought you had additional mods or were using some kind of engram unlocker.

Either way... My suggestion from my first post still stands. You need to research engram overrides.

SS is a green stackable mod... Hence why it doesnt replace vanilla engrams itself. By removing the vanilla engrams you will break other mods you may choose in the future. It will be on you to test and verify this moving forward and then do additional engram overrides for any new mods you add.

As a server owner myself, I also suffer from the buffer overflow error, so I hid every single vanilla engram replaced by SS. Here is the code. https://pastebin.com/n7D4bBCw
If you use ASM like I do, you can also import the code https://pastebin.com/yNkUPQQ0
For this make sure to download the JSON code instead of copy pasting. Then you can use the import button and select the JSON file.

I know your post is 6 months old but I was looking everywhere for this solution. Thanks so much! I hope you didn't have to type all that out by hand

Thank you so much for the awards! To create the code, I a few hours switching between play-testing and checking boxes in ASM for all DLC. After confirming everything works and transferring, I exported everything. My code only works out of the box if your server auto unlocks engrams on level up. Otherwise you would need to code some new dependencies for the SS engrams.

Hi, thank you for posting this. Spent a while trying to find this, shame there isnt a config option to do this for us.

I was wondering if you had an updated list, or if the one you posted is the most up to date.

Cheers

I tried using this method but it causes insane lag when in the engram menu, any way around this?

Lag is caused by doing engram overrides as a blacklist...

The fix is to do it in whitelist mode. See server config wiki page for full details

I've looked into doing that, the hardest part will be looking up each engrams level unlock requirement....

Hard no... Tedious and time consuming yes...
Unless you're getting the buffer overflow error... It's a lot of effort to go to merely to hide some engrams.

Also you don't need to enter the section for the level unlock unless you're planning on changing it. Just leave it out as it's not required

My server is getting the buffer overflow issue, otherwise I would not bother. So If I just use
OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName=EngramEntry_"PetEmote_C",EngramHidden=False,EngramPointsCost=0,RemoveEngramPreReq=True)
It will not mess with the unlock level at all?
